If any venues out there are willing to work with brides that have been affected by the closing of noahs in mentor Ohio please reach out and/or if any other brides have any information for me to move forward!

Can you get your money back? A couple of other brides have posted about this place. That is horrible.

If you put it on a charge card, you may be able to dispute charges and get a refund. I’m sorry this happened. I hope you find something soon.

I hope a lawsuit gets filed against them because by February 1st, they pretty much knew that they were going to file bankruptcy and then they still took your money. I don't want to make you spend more money, but I would seriously look into that because that sounds very shady.

Call your credit card company and tell them they are closed.

This makes me so sad for you and the other brides I have read about on here. I would start reaching out to every venue you can find and explain your situation. You may find one that will work with you!
As far as your $4,700, you may need to take legal action against the company in order to get your money back!

    Hi Malika,

First, I'm so sorry to hear about your venue. When I read what happened I started doing some research. I found an article and they : Historic Rt. 20 Event Center in Madison and Sun Valley Ohio Event Venue will have either special packages or waived fees. Representatives of both venues told News 5 they have many of the sought-after dates still available.
I don't know if that's even an option for you. Good luck.

I actually just read this article about the Noah venues going bankrupt I'm so sorry it's very unfair that they knowingly were taking money from their clients and have no obligation to pay them back since they have filed for bankruptcy! I really hope that a venue can help you and make sure your day is still perfect!

Anyone suggesting a lawsuit - it won't help. Once a company files for bankruptcy protection then creditors basically have to stand in line and wait for the courts to decide who gets how much of the assets that remain. Any creditor that has liens on assets (such as a bank holding a mortgage, or with outstanding loans given to the business) will always be first to get paid. Unfortunately, most people will end up collecting very little if anything.

The suggestion to notify credit card companies is a good one as most will return a payment made in this case. If you paid by cash or check, you will need to wait for the bankruptcy court to finalize payments - and that usually takes years.

Reach out to your other vendors for recommendations, they maybe able to help. I know here in Albuquerque, NM some vendors are sharing info on Instagram and have found other venues offering discounts/deals to couples in your situation.

I worked for a company that went bankrupt. Unfortunately, the banks/liquidators seize control and order the companies to not tell ANYONE including their employees and all customers. And they tell them to continue collecting as much money as possible right up until the hour they close the doors for business. They do not want panic and hysteria leading up to the permanent closing, and they want to recoup as much financially as they can before then. In my case, we showed up to work and continued collecting payments for 3 hrs that day, then they called an all staff meeting and told everyone to turn in their company cell phones, keys, etc. and we were all out of a job. No one had a clue it was coming before then. It sucks how they handle bankruptcies, but they only look at it from a business perspective. I hope the couples who paid with a credit card are able to recoup some of their money. My heart goes out to all of them. I can’t even imagine!!

Bankruptcy is a federal protection however if she contacts the bankruptcy trustee they will seize whatever account outside to return the money it's a customer deposit which is not the venue money so the courts have to hold that money or the bankruptcy court will not approve the bankruptcy

They may not have enough to cover the money too all canceled customers I've read numerous posts just on this forum of canceled wedding from their locations. I really hope she gets at least some sort of compensation but most of all gets to still have her special day be everything she wants it to be!!!
