I agree with contacting the Attorney General's office. While you may not get any money right away, the AG may be able to help you get some of your money back down the line. I'm so sorry this is happening to you. Praying for you and sending you positive vibes that everything works out in your favor!

I hope so such a bad situation but the trustee may already have the money like when a company files bankruptcy the trustee seizes everything left especially deposit
I would also keep a watchful eye open to see if the open up again under another name

Depending on what chapter they filed you can list yourself as a creditor and if they have to sell off any of the assets you may be able to get some of the money back. I would contact the trustee at the bankruptcy court and find out.

I am so sorry! I could not even imagine the stress you guys must be feeling. They just closed down their 2 southeast MI locations as well. We totally almost booked with them & I am SO thankful we ended up going with our original venue instead. Our friends just attended a wedding there this past August. I loved the venue, just couldn't justify $7000 for only a venue, tables & chairs. I would definitely check all your local bride to bride pages, call some venues near you & check their availability. I would also for sure contact your bank or credit card company & explain the situation & see if they can do anything for you.

I'm so sorry this happened to you, and I feel terrible for all the other brides this happened to as well. We were just joking about this as we paid our rental vendor last weekend, that they'd close down before our event and we'd be out the money. And now here it's happened, but not to us, and not for just a few hundred dollars. This is AWFUL!! I can't believe the government protects POS companies like this instead of the consumers. The trickle down effect alone could just be horrific. (Couples out of money that now can't have their dream wedding bc they can't afford it, or couples who put it on credit and now can't pay it back or justify spending more elsewhere.) My heart just breaks for all you brides that this happened to.

I'm so sorry this happened to you! i'm wishing you lots of luck and i hope that a venue will take over for you to make your day magical. i would absolutely seek legal counsel for that! how disgusting of them to take your money knowing they were going out of business.

Bankruptcy's are public record. If you search the newspaper where the venue was located there should be a Legal notice posted in the paper. That will tell you who the trustee is and what steps you have to take to contact them. If they have not completely filed yet meaning that they have not filed the documents with the court and started the process then you will have to look up the bankruptcy court in the county the venue is located in and speak with someone there to find out what you can do.

Also, I just googled the company if it is NOAH'S Event Venue, they filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in May 2019. This meant that they could still operate and restructure their debts. A judge last Thursday changed it to a Chapter 7 Liquidation. This is the information that I got from the Google search.

U.S. Bankruptcy Court and submit it to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Utah, 350 Main Street #301, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84101. Case number **** should be included on the form.

Sorry didn't copy the part that said you need to get a proof of claim form from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

    I hope this helps.

Hi I have been reading through this post its really sad however this is a process

1 if it's on a credit card or debit card dispute the charges ASAP
    2. Contact the local bankruptcy court if it's a chapter 11 the venue is reorganizing the debt so the money was hopefully deposited in escrow or mingle with the owner funds either way the court will give you a form to list your name as a creditor you will then appear for the court date and if the trustee gets the approval they will begin to disburse your funds
3- contact your attorney general office and file a complaint that is the purpose of the Attorney General Office to prevent these occurrences* please remember payment should always be cc so you can dispute

The same thing happened to me with Noah's in NC. Luckily we had some time to regroup but other venues were willing to work with us.
