Venue Decor Help!!!

Jhosselyn, on June 10, 2024 at 3:58 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 3

Looking for some ideas on how to decorate my venue that doesn't allow any draping or items hanged from the ceiling or walls. It's a community center so it has 6 basketball hoops around the venue. I was trying to work with them on covering the hoops but they said nothing in the center can be used to decorate. The only option I have is to use curtains to cover the walls but I was trying to think of ideas to cover the hoops without "touching them". Any ideas?

You answered one question which was the number of hoops. The second question is: how are the hoops going to be positioned during your wedding? Do they fold up higher so they reach 15 feet above the floor? Is this venue for the wedding and reception?

You may be able to create cardboard partitions to rise up pretty high. Have them approach the area of the hoops at an angle, so they sort of flow or point to one end of the venue -- where the main activity is. For a hoop at that end, create sort of a triangular cover with cardboard (all painted white).

Maybe some other people will have more practical ideas too.

Balloons. Anchor the helium balloons from the ground and even in a fashion that encircles the hoops but does not connect to the hoops. Maybe you could hang some material between the balloons -- but that might be difficult to make it work properly.

Also you may have control of the lighting such that some of the hoops are not prominent. Then you can rent colored lights to highlight areas away from the hoops.

Hopefully the cost to get something like balloons does not undo the benefit of having the venue you selected.

    Jhosselyn,

The most clever and efficient way to decorate a space without touching anything is through lighting. Smart lighting professionals will be able to transform the community space into the romantic setting of your dreams. It may be pricy to hire a pro, but DIY options can get the look for less. DM me if you need more support!

    Best of luck, and congratulations!
