Venue Help

Tonia, on April 12, 2022 at 5:44 PM Posted in Planning 8 6

I need a venue for 8/27/22, I only have 40 guests. I want to bring in my own food, and music and photobooth would be nice if had a bar but not necessary I have a very small budget. all the venues I have seen are so much and they don't let you bring in you own food. HELP

I would look at venues that aren't traditionally for weddings- community center and legions/VFW halls may allow this.

You might want to look at fire halls or parks. I'm sure there are places that aren't traditionally seen as wedding venues would be easier for budgeting.

Hey Tonia! These forums aren't filtered by region so you probably won't get specific recommendations. But, I would look a non traditional wedding venues, places that have micro wedding packages, and peerspace!

The wedding industry wants you to believe that not a single venue exists anywhere that fit that criteria. There actually are a number of venues that allow outside catering among other vendors. All inclusive venues are not budget friendly because they bait and switch you with exorbitant required fees (5-6 figures for food/beverage minimums that you are not allowed to taste until after you sign the contract, don’t allow you to skip a vendor you don’t want or can’t afford) .

Take a look at eventective.com and Google in your area for venues that allow outside catering. You are not limited to community centers and Elks lodges unless that is what you specifically want.

I personally really like The Venue Report (https://www.venuereport.com/ ) and Here Comes the Guide; I’d also look into what public spaces (gardens, parks or other venues held by local government) are available- they usually don’t have restrictions on food, and with a small guest count that could be a great fit!
