Have you looked into millennium Park. It's beautiful. Also look up pop the knot as they specialize in small weddings and they do Chicago I think or simply eloped. They can potion recommend restaurants.

You can do a small civil ceremony at the Cultural Center on Saturday’s for $10. It’s beautiful. It’s a small window and 20 is max people. You could also get married on the beach (bring your own officiant) and it’s free. (I recommend 31st beach as there’s parking). Parks and forest preserves in both cook and Dupage counties you can reserve a shelter. You could cater in food. (Assuming it’s not winte). Or you can find a restaurant to have a celebration. Try Maggianos downtown or Oak Brook. They have family style. I also love Wildfire. The one in a Oak Brook has a small separate room you could have. There’s a place by me that is reasonable price in Elmwood Park (near downtown) called Jim & Pete’s.

We found a beautiful venue for $500 for 4 hours and $100 for any extra hour.

To the poster, it’s definitely going to depend on your budget, everything seems to be pretty expensive out here! We did find some good deals for my bridal shower and rehearsal dinner (both parties of about 40). Is start by coming up with a list of restaurants that you like and then email everyone to get their pricing for events. Good luck!
