Hey all, I'm getting married 10/10/2020 and I'm hoping I can get some advice about my venue.
So my venue is still closed and the only way for me to reach them is by phone call. They don't have an email and they are not active on any social media. I haven't heard from them at all. Every time I call it goes to voicemail saying along the lines of, "We are closed due to the virus and will open back up until the president says it's okay to. If you have an event in the upcoming months, we will honor your deposit for a new date if needed." Of course I leave messages, but no response... The venue is a restaurant and event center, so I was hoping they would reopen the restaurant part, but nope, nothing yet. The venue is in a rural county in CA, about an hour from where I live. I need to ask my venue if my wedding could still be a possibility this year with my 40 guests, or discuss postponement options. I really want to know the logistics and all that. I also really want to take a tour of the place again. So now I'm just worried and hate playing the waiting game!
Should I continue to hope that they open soon, and keep calling each week? Or search for a new venue that is open now that has availability for my date. (Which will be very difficult since the 10/10 date is really popular this year, and we've already put a deposit down on our current venue.) Our plan b is to ultimately get married in my parents backyard if the venue is still not open, but I really don't want that Any other brides with a similar situation?
