Hi ladies! Quick question, wedding is in July, but thinking of postponing. If changed during this year, no fee. If moved to 2021, they are saying we will have to pay the new "per plate price" for 2021 weddings...they havent given me the price yet. Just wondering if other venues are doing this...

I was not breaking the contract. In fact, my venue was breaking contract when they asked for extra money. Also, you do not know where I live and what my county orders are. I live in Los Angeles county, where we have one of the most strict stay at home orders right now.

Luckily, we were able to resolve the issue, and we only have to pay $1000 transfer fee which will be applied to our non-refundable deposit. So no extra monies had to be paid which is all I wanted to have happen.

In addition, I plan on letting the rest of my vendors know that my fiancé and I are willing to pay them part of our remaining balances to help with financial hardship. Although both my photographer and videographer have personally told me that they will not be charging any fees to move to next year which is lovely.

That’s great! I’m glad it worked out. I appreciate the detailed information. Sharing it will certainly help other couples navigate their situation.

    Best wishes.

I was a 7/18 bride just postponed mine to next year. They also told me that would be an increase but they hadn't worked the amount out yet....sigh. Hopefully it's not too outrageous.

Wedding vendors and venues often change their pricing year-to-year so this is quite common and expected.

    Totally agree with you!!!

If they want to charge me the $1,400 now and apply I would definitely be okay with it. But they way they are answering emails, they aren't being reasonable.

I will update with what happens once everything is finalized.
