Venue Searching

Yesenia, on September 23, 2019 at 12:50 PM Posted in California Planning 0 7

I am recently engaged and looking at having our wedding in September 2020. I am searching for venues in the north bay area. I can't seem to find anything affordable and beautiful all together. I know im wishing too much on getting both. Any suggestions? Comments?

Hi Yesenia, have you tried using the vendors tab to search for venues in your area?

I don't know where you've been looking, but the north bay area is some of the prettiest natural beauty in all of Northern California!!

Check out public spaces, like parks, reservoirs, campgrounds, as they often only cost a permit fee, sometimes a small rental fee. That can really cut down on your costs. Also, you do then have to get rentals (tables, chairs, linens, etc.) but it also gives you more freedom of choice for catering, beverages, etc.

Another category to look at is non-wedding venues. Like tourist places, museums, art galleries, theaters. Sometimes those places can be rented for a wedding, a lot cheaper than more traditional venues.

Another idea is those all-inclusive places. The one that comes to mind is Wedgewood. They have venues all over the Bay Area, and they include a lot. My niece is planning her wedding through them, and although it's not going to be cheap, they are working with her in terms of getting her what she wants for her budget, and she is also able to make monthly payments on her total, so that it will be paid off by the time she gets married. Sometimes it's just a matter of good organization and planning ahead. If you can't afford what you want right now, maybe think about pushing the date out a year or more to give yourselves more time to save. That is what FH and I had to do. It was a real relief to have more time too.

Thanks so much for this information Cristy, I really appreciate it. I will make sure to look into the places you mentioned and most definitely Wedgewood weddings. We have money for our wedding, we just rather save a bit for our honeymoon and a new homeSmiley smile

    Thanks again!

    Hello!

What kind of wedding are you aiming for (winery, garden, outdoor, indoor, hotel, etc)?

Look up Fairview Napa- that is where we are doing it in December and it's been a great experience and pretty budget friendly since they have different packages you can get. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about my experience if you like.

We are doing Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia. It is a Wedgewood property. I liked that it wasn't another winery or golf course. And the all-inclusive aspect is so convenient and reasonably priced for bay area.
