I am saving on the venue. Some may think it is splurging, however the wedding and reception at the same venue but in separate spaces. I can say that we are pleased,

We saved by looking into local parks and beaches and settled with a beautiful little house off of one of our local parks with an amazing grass area.

Save. We are having a backyard wedding. It's close by most of our guests. My in laws have 3 acres so that helped influence that choice and we got super lucky too with the fact his aunt does weddings at her property too so she is letting us barrow tables, chairs, dancefloor, large party tent and outside heaters!

We splurged because it was an all inclusive venue!

Splurged.. We initially saved by choosing another venue however they closed last week so we were in a bind to find a new place. Causing us to have to find a more pricey venue! However, it includes alot so I'm looking at it like we saved on some other stuff such as housing for the weekend and rehearsal dinner packages!

Save. Our venue was less expensive than others we were looking at, but didn't include rentals. The lower cost allowed us to afford them though. And we were able to choose our own vendors.

Splurge! I was planning a church wedding originally because I assumed we wouldn't be able to afford any other venue. However, after learning that FH's parents were chipping in money, as well as my own parents, we were able to book a beautiful barn venue that is beyond my wildest dreams of what I thought I would ever get to have for my wedding! The owner was very nice, and because my FH is in law enforcement we were able to get a decent discount.

Also, ceremony and reception are in the same place so it's nice! And there are rooms for getting ready for the girls and guys.

We stuck with a dream area for our wedding instead of super specifically picking an exact menu. My FH & I are both from California (currently living in AZ) & I am a water baby, so for me an important feature I wanted our venue to have was a view of the ocean (NOT ON the beach lol). We toured a bunch of venues with ocean views and found the PERFECT one!

We will actually be having our ceremony on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean & our reception will be followed up at an historic building with amazing views of San Diego/La Jolla/Pacific Ocean.

My suggestion would be if you want to save money, try to think of a general area. If you are willing to splurge I fully support paying for your dream wedding. At the end of the day the few things guests will remember the most are the venue, the dress, and the food!

It's kind of a save, kind of a splurge. Its cheaper than other places we visited but it was still costly. When you say wedding, for anything, the price is boosted

We saved!! As a matter of fact, I got super lucky because the woman I contacted at our venue emailed me prices and said if we had our reception in their Indoor on-site venue they would waive the rental fee for the ceremony location!! I think was quoted in error, but they are going to honor it!! So we are getting our beautiful ceremony space for FREE!!

Save! The venue was holding a 50% off promo for booking any of the remaining dates from January-March. We were able to get our venue for $750 for an early (12-5pm), Saturday wedding at the end of March!

This is the pond we'll have our ceremony at. You can't see in the picture, but there are apple trees all around and by our wedding date they should be in full bloom!Venue - Splurge or Save? 1
