It a mix of both. I love my venue and the cost was reasonably priced.

It feels like we splurged on our venue because it was a little pricier BUT it’s an all inclusive venue so there are lots of things that we don’t have to budget for now.

our venue includes a lot which saved us money, they do catering and coordinating and are throwing in so many extras and things for free for us

So hard to say! I thought I was getting a deal for $1800, but then I ended up having to pay for literally everything (trash cans included). So while I saved on the actual venue, the end cost is looking to be the same as if I would have splurged.

Splurging on a venue is all about preference and vision! I think we did splurge a bit on ours, a country club, because we fell in love with the space the moment we walked in! I had a certain vision for my wedding day and this place fit that vision perfectly. There was so much beauty within the space it wouldn't need much to accent that. This is one thing that was absolutely worth the splurge for us!

Splurge and Save? It is an all-inclusive so we are saving by not hiring more vendors but we did have nice venues that were cheaper. It was actually a reasonable price compared to some of the places we toured that didn't include everything though.

Splurge. We looked at several different places, this one was the most expensive, but it was by far my favorite. It's beautiful on it's own and will require little decoration, so we will be able to save in that area.

Same here! We splurged a bit, but they take care of EVERYTHING (even get to pick from their wedding decor) so it’s worth it to me. We’re planning from 2,000 miles away so it helps with that a ton.

I saved! My ceremony venue is outdoors in a city park, which was only $200. My fiance works at the hotel where we are holding the reception and they are giving it to us for free (normally costs $1000).

A bit of both. Our venue ended up costing $1500 more than originally budgeted, but the cost we're saving in using our own caterer makes a huge difference.

Splurge, but luckily we didn't have to.

Save. We decided on doing our ceremony and reception at our church and even it would be nice to have an outdoors wedding, I always imagined myself walking down the aisle at the church, plus we don't have to pay for anything and no stress with weather and other issues. The church is all engaged to help us in everything and that's awesome once I am not in the same state as my fiancé until 2 weeks before the wedding. Smiley heart

We splurged because we both fell in love with our venue. They include the manager, chef and coordinator which gives me piece of mind. Plus we have it for the whole weekend which is something we are excited for. Family is very important to us so to be able to have our families around all weekend was a huge plus.

We non-intentionally saved - haha. We were able to get a waterfront venue, with a resort lodge that was 1/2 the price of our intown options with less character. We are both lake lovers so the fact that we were able to incorporate that feel into our wedding really fit!

Saving by marrying outdoors, with no formal venue.

We splurged but also saved! We rented our wedding venue for a Sunday because it was our dream venue to have it at a botanical garden area close to home! The dates were slim picking in the fall time so we were able to still pick a date that worked and rent the venue at the same time rather than having to choose another venue that we weren’t totally obsessed with!

Save. I really can’t believe what some places charge for building rental.
