Venue suggestion Nh, Ma or Maine

Katrina, on March 16, 2022 at 3:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hello!

I'm newly engaged and looking to have a nice wedding but as budget friendly as possible. Looking for somewhere in NH, Maine coast or MA. Maybe somewhere that you can hire own catering. Wedding budget for everything ideally would be 10k so venue and food looking for suggestion under that. For 75 people. I know this may be a hard task but all suggestion are welcome! TIA

So, depending on where exactly you are looking in that area, I would strongly suggest either a smaller country club, or a place that's just a venue. If you head towards the ones everyone knows (Wentworth by the Sea, Searles Castle, Omni etc) you're looking at at least 20K. But if you go for a more venue place (Event Center Nashua for example) their all inclusive rates are much more budget friendly. Also take a look at places that are for reception only. Castle in the Clouds is pretty and may be within budget. Atkinson Country Club is also really pretty. Smaller inns (Exeter Inn for example) also may be more budget friendly.

I'm desperately trying to remember where we held my senior prom (which was admittedly a bit ago) because that place was really beautiful...

Based on your description, a parks department owned venue where you bring your own catering and dj is your best bet.

Take a look at parks department websites and browse the venue rentals. Also take a look at eventective.com

The venue came screaming at me - The Granite Rose in Hampstead, NH . It's a beautiful venue, has a ceremony space if you want one there and have a wide range of pricing. Certainly worth taking a look at. And Hampstead is near the border of NH and MA so, easy access for all 3 states for any of your guests.

If you're going more outdoor wedding space (though October in New England is always a gamble) you could talk to some of the beaches in Maine about rentals there - Biddeford Pool and Kennebunk are particularly beautiful on the southern coast. Odiorne Point is also lovely. Again, it depends on the vibe you are looking for. That area has a ton of options for barn/more rustic weddings as well as extremely upscale venues. Strawberry Bank in Portsmouth is historic and beautiful. Or you could go old school NH and see if Rye beach does rentals with the reception at a place like Ray's (Very casual but fantastic food)

Have you checked out venuereport.com? It's like the Airbnb of venues - I didn't notice as many venues listed on there in NH, but there is a decent number in Maine and MA
