Can anyone give tips on what to bring to a venue tour?

I brought a notebook and a pen, but you really don't need much, as a general rule.

If you have your colors picked out already, you could bring a color swatch with you, to help you envision how your colors will look against the venue's decor. Otherwise, bring a list of questions you'd like to ask the venue, and maybe a notebook and pen to make notes of anything you think will help you make a decision about the venue later. Happy venue searching!

So a lot of the venues I looked at sent me information packets in advance so I printed them out and I put them along with lined paper in a binder so I could take notes. Also a pen. Otherwise I didn't bring anything else with me. The only other thing is if you have specific questions you could write down if you're worried you'd forget to ask.

Not really something to bring, but maybe take pictures of the event spaces you're considering? Also, to go along with the notebook thing, maybe write a pros/cons list and a list of any preferred vendors the venue might have?

I just brought my phone to take pictures/notes. All of the venues I toured provided printed information about their pricing and what they offer as well.

Bring a small notebook and pen, and Phone! Take a full video of all the spaces you may use. When I took pictures I found myself wanting a video of the space instead, so I started to take a slow video 360 of the spaces and walkthrough to all the areas and it was SO MUCH BETTER

I had a small notebook, pen and a phone. I had a list of questions I had already typed up, and kept a copy in the notebook and then wrote the answers for each venue on separate pages. I had my now husband take pics and videos of the spaces. Every venue we went to also gave me a folder of their info. So a lot of that answered some of my questions.

I brought a printed a list of questions and a pen with me. There's a ton of pre-made questionnaires you can find online if you aren't sure what to ask or if you want to see if there's anything you aren't thinking of.

While I asked questions and listened to what the venue coordinators had to say, I put my then-fiancé/ now-husband in charge of taking pictures.
