Venue Touring

Avery, on January 1, 2023 at 7:22 PM Posted in Planning 2 9
My Fiancé and I have been engaged for one week and we’re so excited! I’m wondering if it’s too early to start touring venues? We’re hoping for September of 2024. Is it too soon to start reaching out to venues/vendors?

I don't think it's too soon at all to start researching and touring venues! September can be a popular month for weddings, so getting started a little early may be a good idea. Happy venue searching/wedding planning, and congratulations on your engagement!!

Nope never too early! We got engaged Oct 14 2021, looked at our venue on the 31 st and booked it a few days later for end of Feb 2023. And we had to compromise on the date! All of Feb and March Saturdays were already gone except for the one we went with. (This is in Florida so those are popular months.)

It's not too soon! September and October are very popular months. Establish a budget and a guest list and then start searching. Best wishes!

Congratulations on your engagement I also just got engaged planning 7/6/2024 wedding and started searching venues it’s a Florida wedding although not peak season here but I’ve looked at 2 places where the date was not available and my date isn’t flexible since I have family out of state in NY and summer was best so I think sooner than later is always best.

I am in Orlando and I had my heart on a beach wedding but I’ve noticed cost a bit more from the places I’ve seen not looking for luxury but do want something nice with ceremony out doors and reception in since it’s July .

Not too soon at all. Venues get filled up 1 year, sometimes even 2 years in advance. This is the first thing you should book after establishing your budget and max guest count because it will affect what other vendors you’re able to book after that (budget leftover, are they able to work with the venue you got, what kinds of decor you can put, etc.).

Just a thought - we are having our post-wedding celebration in Disney Springs at Terralina Crafted Italian Terralina. They were VERY reasonable and the venue is soooo pretty. The event coordinator was a dream to work with, and you could even see about getting married either there, or the band shell they have in that area. Oh, and food is delish!
