How much are you about to spend on venue? Not counting catering, photos, rentals, etc. Take a look at eventective.com and search for the lower cost venues. Parks departments will have the least expensive venues, with tables and chairs onsite. You just provide catering (a local restaurant will be most economical), photographer, dj, etc.

My husband is from NJ and I'm from PA. We choose to get married in PA because NJ is a very expensive area. Depending on the type of venue you want and the number of people that you plan on inviting it will be very difficult to find a venue within your price range. Just for a reference, our venue was a hotel and we had to pay a minimum of $7,000 just for food and beverages.
