Do most venues have rules/restrictions of bringing in your own DIY centerpieces?

Every venue is different but most expect that your florist will be providing them. You have to ask the venue coordinator because they focus on venue restrictions and do not set up anything for you.

Our venue required us to only use professional vendors so we wouldn't have been allowed to DIY our own centerpieces, but every venue is going to be different so I would speak with your venue to see what their rules are.

Yep, you’ll definitely want to ask about this! Some venues won’t want candles or things with excessive glitter, or will require you to use certain elements.

Our venue let us do pretty much whatever we wanted, and they even had lanterns that we could borrow, which helped save some money.

Every venue is different and some have very strict rules about candles or glitter and things like that but they should go over that with you.

The Inn we used had had a restaurant under a different owner, and when I asked, since transporting theings several hundred miles, they opened a cliset where they had 30 to 50 of about 6 sizes vases, clear glasd, and an assortment of bigger or cut glass ones. And lanterns with chimneys for candles, brass lanterns with LED lights, bowls for floating flowers or candles, stained glass lanterns with abstract designs, and numerous holiday things like angel chimes, everything for at least 30. Most restaurants I have worked, as staff or a caterer who does special party foods, have such collections if asked. Other venues, it varies. When I said we were using flowering plants, they had beautiful pottery containers for all kinds and sizes of pots. That is not a common find, in restaurants.

I would think a country club would own a full sock of things to dress every table.

It depends on the venue. Talk to the venue coordinator and check your contract. Our venue allowed us to bring in whatever we wanted to go with the items to venue provided.

You'd have to ask, each venue can vary. My venue only requires they be completed upon arrival and no confetti on the tables. If I give them detailed instructions on where everything should go they will put it out on tables for us.
