Venues in the greater Philadelphia area

Carina, on March 3, 2020 at 2:48 PM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 13

I've been having A LOT of trouble finding a venue that suits my FH and my own needs. We really want to have our entire wedding outside in a wooded area. We both absolutely love the look of trees all around us and everything being out in the open. While we are open to the idea of a tent in the case of rain, we've been having trouble finding a venue in our area that is like this at all. I've found ceremony spaces we love however, they all have indoor reception spaces and do not allow for a ceremony only wedding. I've attached some pictures to show exactly what we are thinking. If anyone has had their wedding at a place that looks similar to this in our area or is planning to get married in a place like this, please let me know! I've exhausted all the actual venues in about a 2-hour radius and can't find anything! I've been looking at parks lately but I am unsure if we could have our reception in a park being that we'd like to stay as late as 10 or 11 pm on a Sunday night.

Edit: I thought it'd be important to mention I intend to keep our guest list under 100 people

What about the Brandywine Manor House? They have a few outdoor spaces to choose from and a tent option for a reception.

Ridgeland Mansion has an amazing outdoor ceremony space with the option for the entire ceremony and reception outdoors (and you can stay late)! We considered it for our venue, but size was an issue for us with a large guest count. Sounds like it would be perfect for yours! They seemed very flexible and willing to work with any special requests we might have had.

These are the Ridgeland Mansion ceremony spaces - seems decently similar to what you’re looking for.

Hi, I have seen the Brandywine Manor before and while they have a beautiful ceremony space, we were really looking to have an outdoor reception and would be okay with a tent only in the event of rain. Thank you so much for the option though!!

This place is beautiful!! I will definitely put it down as an option and it's so close as well! Do you know if they do receptions completely outdoors?

It's so beautiful there! We love the second outdoor space they have in the woods but I totally understand about the tent. I think there are some places in Bucks County that may have what you're looking for. There was a farm I remember coming by on wedding wire, while searching for venues before we decided on a destination wedding.

I believe they do! They have a beautiful stone reception area (like your picture) with a tent option for rain, but I don’t believe the tent is required. Highly recommend reaching out to them for a visit! Good luck!

The Lake House Inn at Lake Nockamixon in Quakertown is a beautiful outdoor space that overlooks the lake. I’d check it out! It is in upper bucks county that seems to be within your radius. Not exactly what you have pictured but it is still a gorgeous venue!

Have you looked at the Welkinweir Estate? It is an outdoor venue in the Pottstown area, the ceremony and reception area are both stunning. The venue mostly serves as an arboretum so they have beautiful trees and flowers around. They only have weddings in the spring and fall because of the other activities at the venue and the outdoor temperature, if that lines up with your plans you should take a look! Jeffery A Miller Catering is the catering company for the venue and they have been a pleasure to work with so far planning the wedding. At our tasting the food was absolutely delicious as well so we are looking forward to our selections!!!

Have you considered The Old Mill? I never looked at it, but my mom was obsessed.

You should look at Ledges Hotel in Hawley, PA. They have a beautiful ceremony backdrop including a waterfall. We ultimately decided on another venue but Ledges was a close second. We are also planning on having 100 or less guests.

Like the person above me...you can check out Ledges (my venue!!) They have an additional venue called The Boiler Room which is equally as beautiful and for smaller weddings.

Lacawac Sanctuary is another great option you may like!! That is also near Lake Wallenpaupack.
