Does anyone know any Venues that don’t cost a lot of money and have a minimum guest count? I just got engaged and I still don’t know what I want to do for a wedding it’s still all up in the air but I want to look around and do research on venues to figure out what I want to actually do I sort of have some of the guest list so far I have about 65 people and I know I’m missing some from my fiancé’s side so I would say we would probably invite 75 people but I’m sure some won’t be able to make it. Please I need help

    HI Ashley

Did you know you can search WeddingWire vendors by price and capacity?

Every venue I toured (7) had either a spending minimum or a minimum guest count in each room. Maybe you may benefit more by looking at venues with spending minimums instead of guest count minimums? Lake Pearl in Wrentham does spending minimums and has a room with 100 person capacity so they may be worth looking into. Although, there are venues with lower guest count minimums that may work for you. Spinelli's in Lynnfield and Danversport in Danvers both start at 50 if I remember correctly.

What part of MA are you from/looking at a venue at? And what style are you going for (rustic, elegant, simple....)?

I am in the same boat. Total 60.
We are going to The 228 in Sterling.
Very accomodating. However, as it is an event location only, you have to rent almost everything there to use for your wedding and also catering. You will be the only wedding on your day, the venue has a staff to help in ANY way.

We are doing Nantasket Beach Resort in Hull. No minimum for room or count. Our headcount, ALL inclusive (I know some won't be coming as they live in Puerto Rico) is at 93.

Depending on what are MUST have's for you - you can streamline your budget as well. Meaning, we changed our event from "wedding reception" to "social gathering" and our budget went from $15K to $5K. All we "lost" was the wedding cake being included in the package (it cost us $300 to pay for it ourselves), floor length linens - now they will be 3/4 length (sorry, but I couldn't care less) and we lost the champagne toast which we can always add back in at a cost if we want to. That's it. That's all we lost. Um, okay, that works for us!
