Very Small Bachelor/bachelorette Party

Tara , on June 7, 2018 at 4:26 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 16
My fiancé and I want to have a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Las Vegas. Our problem is that only two people in our entire wedding party can go. We have invited another couple, too. My question is, should we even have a party? Or should we try to change our plans for Vegas and go somewhere more people can go?

You and your fiance can go to Vegas but you can't plan your own bachelor/bachelorette parties. Especially since it seems this is too much for the rest of your wedding party, either financially, time commitment or both. I would let it go and see if someone offers to do something for you.

Where do you live? If you live in Vegas and your friends do too I don't see it as a big deal. But it kinda sounds like it would be a trip for everyone. Vegas is a lot - it's expensive and can be overwhelming. Try to scale back and I'll bet you get more people to come.

That’s what I’ve been thinking but my fiancé is really wanting to go to Vegas. We live in Florida and Miami would be a better option for everyone. My bridesmaid that lives there can’t go anywhere and everyone is just working or broke.

Oh yeah I'm in Florida too. It's a big deal when we go to Vegas. It's a big commitment and if your friends are "working or broke" no wonder they can't go. Go to Vegas for your honeymoon or a separate trip for the two of you but if your FH wants his friends there for his bachelor party, he'll probably have to step back.

I’m worried then no one from his side will be able to go if we have it in Miami, too. I just think he picked some unreliable people. I probably did, too.

Where in Florida do you live? Just do a night on the town in your area.

Unfortunately, none of the people in our wedding party live here. We are in Tampa.

People being too broke and busy to travel for a completely optional party doesn’t make them unreliable. Traveling across the country is expensive. Traveling to a major city and spending multiple days there is expensive. Some people just can’t afford that.

I'm in Tampa too. I think my girls are planning a night in Ybor. We're going to go to Hamburger Mary's and then who knows what. Good luck!

I just had another idea. If your people can't afford to travel to Tampa for a separate event, do a sort of after party following your rehearsal dinner. Or if they're coming a couple days early, do a night out the day before the rehearsal.

It depends on what you guys want! If Vegas is more important, then do that, if more people is more important, go somewhere closer to home! I also don't see anything wrong with planning your own bachelor or bachelorette party if you want to. I'm helping my MOH since I'm out of state and I have 9 total bridesmaids in 5 states, so it's easier for me to help!

Me personally I would not go and add that money to the honeymoon. Upgrade your flight or add an excursion. Hey maybe you can add another day.

That’s completely up to you. If you want more people to party with you, I’d change plans. If you wanna do up Vegas, do it up! You’ll have 4 other people and that’s plenty for a trip. If I had the means, I’d go for Vegas with just a few others over a larger party if it was me.

We can actually fly to Vegas for free because of my airline miles. 😊 Unfortunately, our honeymoon will only be 3 nights because we cannot miss too many days from work. So I’m not really that worried about the cost of our honeymoon.
