Veterans Day

Hello I would like some advice I want to get married on 11/11/21 for a few reasons, I realize it’s Veterans Day but the reason I would really like this date is because my ex husband and I who had 3 children together we’ve been separated up until this past Christmas Day when we lost our oldest son I decided to come and be with him and our 2 other children. He has been so strong and loving for us during this time. 11/11 is our angel # the # that reminds us of him. His bday is 11/21 so I thought it would be really special and a good way to incorporate all the days, our anniversary date would be 11/11/21 a beautiful way to honor him. However I realize it’s also Veterans Day and I wouldn’t want to cause any disrespect. So I’m just wondering what people’s view on this would be?

We are also getting married on Veterans Day. There will be several veterans in attendance, including the groom. There have been zero issues with it from anyone. I don’t see how it could ever be construed as any sort of disrespect. Plan your wedding on your special day, and don’t worry about it 😀

I agree, people get married on holidays all the time. That date holds a lot of meaning for you so go for it

The date has such a special meaning and holidays are still used for weddings. We are getting married the day before Farthers day because that's just how it worked out. I think you should go for it!

I think it would be fine, it's not a major holiday weekend. But if you want a traditional wedding with a venue, I seriously doubt you'll be able to book one with only two months' notice
