Hi there, my company, TribYoute, actually specializes in photo-video montages. Check a few examples out on our Wedding Wire page. We use software that no one else in the US has...we have an exclusive commercial license to it. I hope you'll find they have a modern look.

4 tips for brides who want a photo-video montage:

    1. Start picking out photos well in advance.

    2. Include home video if at all possible.

    3. If you hire a professional check out a variety of samples from different vendors. Not necessarily the style your videographer provides.

    5. If doing it yourself, choose a video editing or photo montage software. I respectfully recommend NOT using PowerPoint. It is notoriously difficult to work with when attaching large files (photos). And difficult to synch audio to. Even Movie Maker is better.

Let me know if you'd like to discuss your needs further. I have clients all over the country, my website handles photo upload and video preview!

    Best,

    Karyn Reohr

    Owner, TribYoute

We can do this with out a promblem We have several posted on our web site to check out. Once it is created you can play it at your rehearsal and reception. We find there is always a little down time during the dinner/meal, and while guest are waiting for their food they can watch it as well as after they have completed eating and waiting for the evenings events to start back up. They are a huge hit. We create them with creativiity and music that are perfect for your day.

We offer videography as well. If we are shooting your wedding video we can take care of the video screen, projector, DVD player and what ever you need. We also had a bride do a special tribute to her father in the father daughter dance. Very touching!. We dont just create a slide show, its like watching a video of your photos.

If you want a DIY montage that is as good as what you will pay for, got to www.animoto.com. It's easy and very good looking.

I would recommend connecting with the DJ for the actual set up of video projection during the reception. As a videographer, the last thing that I want to worry about at the reception is setting up equipment. My focus is on capturing the day.

If you have raw video from your wedding, there are some great services that will edit it into a pro-quality video. Activid is an online platform where you can upload all your footage, and professional editors will edit that footage into a beautiful 3-4 minute video. They've made some really amazing videos, and it only costs $95. If you don't love it, they refund you the full amount.

I am a videographer, and I for one don't like this idea of having a photo or video montage play during the reception.

My reason: You are paying good money for other professionals to be there, and for food to be served, and drinks to be consumed. Now, you put in this photo montage that stops the party, and takes up time with the setup, viewing and breakdown. I like the idea of a montage, and you can easily create one or have one created, but I personally don't like when the reception is stopped for the viewing. Have it on a TV in the corner, send out a link with your wedding invitations, but don't stop the party.

The benefit you may get from having your videographer or photographer put together a slide show for you is you are more likely to get a high end premium product.

You can have your videographer help you to craft a story that your will have your guests get to know you even better and will even take the pressure off you for another to-do to add to your list. I have helped a number of grooms last minute try to scramble the slide show together the night before and it gets very chaotic with all that is going on.

One thing that eyeShum STUDIO does is engagement sessions and with enough foresight in the early stages we would be able to craft a really cool video/slideshow. The main thing is to make sure that the added stress doesn't interfere in you enjoying your wedding, and if you can move that stress onto someone else, then do it.

If you're going the DIY route, you can check out this Montage Maker to actually stitch the final photos and videos together. This website is free and online, and it supports both photos and videos which is nice for making reception videos.
