Videography - Need to Have or Nice to Have?

It’s not a need but to me it was. It’s just personal.

Its a need for us, Im a video and photo kind of person I love both

If you can afford it I think it’s a must have.

Nice to have, but I’m skipping it! Too many friends have said this is an unnecessary cost or that they never watch the video. Put the money into a great photographer instead.

Nice to have if you can fit it into your budget! FH really wanted the videographer and I wanted the photographer. Compromise is key and we got both!

Nice to have, I wish we could budget it but we can’t.. so this was one of the things we chose as an unnecessary expense.

I want it so badly but my budget is so limited. Some brides have a very nice budget and I hope they know they are lucky

It's nice to have. If i have room in my budget closer to the wedding, i will give Wedit a try. I learned about it through someone's comments on another post and someone also mentioned it above. Seems pretty simple and as long as designated people remember to capture moments, i think I'll be happy with the outcome

I thinj if its in your budget and you can afforf it great but if not its not a need to have not when there are photographers and now with phones you can have a person in the front row use your phone and video it for free lol

Nice to have. I think photography is a need since most videography is just a 5 minute highlight film, plus ceremony film. I want to remember the whole day, not just small parts of it.

Need to have! I love looking back at our video because as much as I love pictures not everything is always capture in an image the way is capture in a video.

For me it was a need. I really want something to look back on, show my kids, and be able to show my family or friends that WEREN'T able to make it to the wedding. Having our vows recorded as we read them is really important to me as well. I actually just booked my videographer & I'm super excited

Just nice to have. I’ve neber watched anyone else’s videos and they all say they don’t watch either. There may be a few dances we’d like quick videos of, might just as someone with a decent camera phone and fairly steady hand to grab!

Need to have for me. I've heard most people say this is their biggest thing they regret skipping on for their wedding. Plus, there's certain elements that I really want recorded, not just still photos, and not just recording on anybody's camera phone - properly recorded with a good quality camera and all these little pieces that are recorded edited together. Something we could look back on for years to come.

Nice to have. We will not be spending the extra cash on a videographer. We are both pretty content with two photographers.
