Ok, so initially I wanted a videographer very badly, just mostly to have coverage of the ceremony. But after realizing how pricey they are, we decided about 9 months ago that we were not to have one, but to just set up tripods for the ceremony instead.

We’re 38 days away from the wedding and I’m suddenly starting to feel a pang of regret... I feel like I will be so upset if we don’t have good coverage of our ceremony, first dance, speeches, etc and I’m so stressed about it...

Did any of you feel regret about not hiring a videographer? Were any of you worried you’d regret not having one, but then realized you were fine without? Do you think it’s even possible to find one with availability this close to our wedding date (it is a Sunday so not as popular a date I hope!)

I love watching first look videos but it was never enough to make me want to hire one. I barely like being photographed let alone being on video.

I'm a wedding photographer and I always recommend clients hire a videographer if they want to remember vows and toasts, because that is the one thing your photographer can't capture the same way as video will! I'm also a bride-to-be and we'll be hiring a videographer, as well, though admittedly not as important to us as photography!

I really hate hearing and watching myself on video, same with FH so we opted out of videographer lol Even photographs are tough for us 😂 So no regrets as of yet for me. I think they are so lovely to see others, so if it’s in your budget then go for it! I hear thumbtack is a good source to find a reasonable one

I've always wanted a videographer but looking at our budget it's out of the question and I'm honestly ok with that. I love watching other peoples videos but how many times do you think you will actually watch it? It's not typically your whole day they give you in the final product and if you want to keep the speaches and vows then I would have them write them or type them for you so you can keep them forever with your photo album.

We hired a videographer. We love our video and have watched it numerous times. I do recommend hiring one. They capture moments your photos make not. Try Thumbtack a lot of the vendors are new and trying to build their portfolios. I also searched vendors on Facebook and used a Facebook wedding vendor group in my area. I found my makeup artist, videographer, venue and caterer/event planner using that group. The venue is also a favorite on WW.Plus people will make recommendations of vendors they've used if you make a request for vendors.

I personally felt like I wanted a video graphy to capture the moments that we may not recall or remember. I wanted to remember/relive the vowels and see the expressions during the ceremony. So I opted to hire a videographer. The highlight video and Reception event or not that important to me I was more interested in the ceremony and the raw footage. I found a videographer that has been in the business for 25 years that's gonna give me a highlight video plus 60 minute video and I can add raw footage for an additional $100 that is for 10 hours I could not beat that deal. Total cost is $1200 for two videographers. It is a husband and wife small business. I would recommend if your heart is set on getting a video of your wedding to go ahead and book it but shop around for some good deals

UPDATE: alright guys, I was so anxious about this so I reached out to our photographer to see if the videographer she works with was still available, and he was. I talked it over with FH who said he didn’t want to spend the money on it, but then we watched a sample video by this videographer and I looked at his face halfway through and he was literally crying 😂 then he turns to me and he’s like “yeah hire the videographer” hahaha.

So we got one now, 1 month in advance! :p I feel so relieved...... I allowed myself to be talked out of it so early on but FH and I are both REALLY home movie people and I know we’ll watch it! I’m so excited 😁
