Videography

Our videographer was a filmmaker coworker of mine.

She gave us a cinematic highlight reel, and then the raw footage, in clips, from the entire time she was there.

This gave us something to post on social media, but also clips we can watch and rewatch for ourselves, or send to family (like the entire clip of my father/daughter dance, etc.).

Does the cinematic one offer you the raw footage as well?

If not, I'd go with the raw one, because you can always edit a highlight reel yourself, or get someone to do it for you.

Have you tried letting your fiancé decide, then seeing if you have a strong gut reaction either way?

Also have you talked to both of the companies?? Sometimes you just click with a vendor!

This is great advice, thank you!! My fiancé had a favorite then when I brought up the perks of the other guy, he changed his mind haha. We have talked to both companies! We FaceTimed with the guy who does the shorter video and he's such a great person. Both our photographers, DJ, and coordinator have all worked with him and love him. We had a phone call with the other and he's really nice and professional, and is including more in his package for us, I think because he's new to our city (moved to Portland from LA).
