Viking River Cruises

Jessica L., on January 6, 2014 at 11:38 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7

Does anyone have any experience with Viking River Cruises in Europe? We just came across them this weekend, and they seem really neat, but wondered if anyone had been on one, or knew someone who had? Thanks!

A lady at work once told me she did one and loved it! She told me she recommended it. They do look awesome! Its on my bucket list.

I always see those commericals right before Downton Abbey. I haven't been on that cruise line but any ship in any part of Europe is bound to be fantastic. We took the Norwegian Epic to Western Europe this past September.

I have never been on one, but a teacher I work with has taken two or three and she loves them. The ships are smaller and not as elaborate as the typical cruise ship. The experience is more focused on the areas you are visiting than on what is happening on the ship.

We saw them too! Neither of us are cruise people but thought we would like those because you are probably going to port more often. I HATE being stuck on a cruise ship for more than just sleep. A few hours on a boat it hours I could be spending exploring. We talked and thought it would be a fun anniversary trip later on, once the kids are older and we are less mobile.

I actually almost booked a cruise with VRC. I love seeing the commercials on PBS before Downton Abbey and since we love to cruise I inquired about it. They have a two for one deal going on right now that ends on Feb 27. I'd go for it. I believe the airfare may even be two for one as well.... good luck

I would totally, totally love to do this. The ports are awesome and it's more like being on a floating hotel than a cruise ship.

    I'm officially jealous.

We went on a river cruise of blountadventures

http://www.blountsmallshipadventures.com/where-we-go/ for our second date. It was a real fun. Onborad activities were really interesting. The whole experience was really fantastic. The atmosphere was romantic. Looking forward for another cruise experience. Besides the fairytale-like scenery, one of the best parts of a European river cruise is the fact that land is never more than 100 yards away.
