Just Said Yes April 2022

Virgin Islands

Hello, everyone! I just got engaged and I’m doing a destination wedding, April 2022. Is anyone planning a wedding in the Virgin Islands? I’m nervous planning due to me not being able to see the venues or taste the food beforehand. Any suggestions?

That sounds awesome! Are you working with a wedding planner that’s local to Virgin Islands?

    Hello!

    The Virgin Islands is beautiful!
I recommend working with Flawless Weddings and Events! Amelisa is amazing!

The Marriott Frenchman’s Reef is a beautiful venue, but expect to pay around $175-$250pp.
If you are interested in a beach wedding; Magens Bay is a great option, and they have pavilions that you can use to party afterwards that is made of concrete.
Amelisa can also recommend you some great options.
    Good luck, and have fun!

April 23, 2022 here! We're destination also, but not leaving the country. It is definitely difficult, but we're only 7 hours from there, so we plan on going down in March to celebrate our Birthdays late(mine is 1/10 and his is 2/22), and we'll go back in August for our anniversary. We plan on meeting our coordinator, but also having meals at the restaurant who is doing our catering, so we can see the real food, in real time. We're also planning to order ourselves a Birthday cake from the bakery doing our wedding cake, so we can test that out also. I also plan on taking a drive to the cabin that we're wanting, so we can see the roads and the conditions of the cabin in advance. I know that's harder with the USVI, but it's a nice option to have.

That’s a great idea. I’m going to talk to my fiancé tonight and see if he wants to go in April. Tickets are cheap so thats what we will do. I need to talk to them in person before paying anything. Lol Thanks for that info. Congratulations 🎊

You're welcome! If nothing else, you can get a feel for the place. We have even discussed getting married in Texas(I'm from there, he's from KY, and lives there and I live in WV lol). But even tho I know most of the restaurants and all that in my hometown, I told him we would still go down there and check things out, because I would want to know that what I remember is still correct.

Reviews are one thing, but what someone else finds amazing, might not be your taste, and you never know if someone else had upgrades, or personal touches, etc. If I knew beyond a doubt that the VI didn't require a passport, I'd be all on that for a honeymoon lmao.

Texas is nice...we are planning on moving there in a few years. Reviews can be misleading for sure. Just don’t get married in WV (jk) there’s always Key West with beautiful weather all year round.

The only way we're getting married in WV or KY, is if the Kentucky Castle is available, or we find one bad@$$ vacation rental in WV(and there's a lot, but I'm not into the work lmao).
