Virtual rsvp

Jessica, on July 3, 2023 at 3:39 PM Posted in Planning 1 2

What about needing to get the names of the "plus ones"? I am doing a virtual RSVP so having the card to fill out is not an option. Trying to figure out how to word on RSVP insert with invitation asking them to go to our website and if they were given a plus one and bringing someone to enter the name instead of it just saying "Jessica & Jessica's Guest" confirmed

It's nice that you are doing this. A lot of people don't realize that there's properly no such thing as a +1. Everyone is a guest. Either way, virtual or with a mailed invitation, you typically will need to chase down some or most of those names. I'd divide up the list between you, FI, and the families and contact people individually if need be.

Regardless of virtual or paper rsvp, you need to track down names by calling people to find out who they are bringing. For a virtual replay, you need to customize the webpage to say that specifically, which only works for fully customizable sites such as Wix or Squarespace.

Keep in mind that partners must be invited by name, regardless of how long they have been an established couple, whether they just started dating and been together 3 months, they are engaged, or they have been together years with no plans to marry. A plus one is a random stranger who is not involved with the guest.
