I got my invitations and STDs from VP. They're nice, they were cheap, and I'm happy with them. With that being said - they're not for everyone. The quality isn't the greatest, and although they don't look "cheap", they don't look super fancy and expensive either. I know invitations are really important to some brides, but it made no difference to me. I'd rather save my money for food and booze.

However, I don't want it to look cheap Smiley sad

    Decisions...decisions......

    Thanks again ladies Smiley smile

I would totally say go to Etsy. They always have some reasonably priced invitations there.

We got our STD's from vistaprint. We liked them, but I don't think that I would order my invitations from there. Check out exclusivelyweddings.com they have some good deals to.

You can order their examples to see if you like their paper.

I thought I was going to go with VP, and then thought I was going to make my own, but then I found my invitations on exclusivelyweddings.com.

I got the wedding kit sample from VP and i'm not going with them mainly because they don't have the design i'm looking for.

i did buy 200 address labels and they look wonderful! we are going to use them for our invitations and RSVP envelopes, so i need to by some more. right now i plan to use VP for my STDs in the same design as the labels, because i like them so much.

you sound like me in terms of getting a nice looking invitation w/o it looking cheap. right now i'm working with http://www.2simplyimagine.com/#! because i saw an invitation set from etsy that was over budget for us but i loved the design.

I just received my sample kit from VP. Most of the paper is way too thin for me, but their "premium matte" felt like a nice weight. I might go with STDs from VP in the premium paper, but for my invitations I'll do something a bit more expensive.

I just got my vistaprint order in the mail last week and I love them! I got my invites (extra large postcards w/ envelopes), RSVP cards (regular postcards w/ our address pre-printed on the back), and save the date magnets. I have a few groupons and ended up with free shipping and the whole bundle for $88.00, which I thought was wonderful.

I made a custom design with a photo of a sunflower with chocolate brown text and used the glossy paper finish, and they turned out really pretty. I've gotten lots of compliments on them and they really don't seem cheap to me, but then I'm not the person that would spend $600.00 on paper products, even if it were in my budget.

I love my invites! I don't really care about the paper. People will end up throwing them away anyway. These are mine. I added the snowflakes from clip art. I spent $93.50 for 90 invites, 90 RSVP cards, 90 reception cards, (all the envelopes were free), 420 return address labels, thank you cards and 250 business cards. I love Vistaprint.

These are my STDs. They are the large magnets and they cost me $59. I got them half off.

No one will be able to tell where are got your invites from. I say go cheap and use the rest of the money of something else.

Your invitations set the tone for your event. If you go with cheap-looking invitations, your guests might show up in their blue jeans! And even worse -- they may purchase cheap-o gifts and bring unwanted guests based on the "casual" appearance of many of vistaprint's templates. It is best to choose an invitation that properly communicates the formality of your event. That being said-- there are a lot of options out there that are much finer quality than what vp has to offer, but are just as affordable. Check out Birchcraft -- they have a section on clearance right now. Some designs from Carlson Craft are as low as 75¢ each, you just need to know where to look. Many of these dealers also offer free items with your order, like napkins or Thank you cards. I would be happy to assist you in finding a dealer in your area who will provide excellent personal assistance. Feel free to email me, if you find you need some help. Happy hunting!

Goskell....While I agree that the invite sets the tone, I have to also add that on an average budget, the design of the invite trumps the paper quality in setting the tone. If a bride needs to use the money elsewhere, cutting down on the cost of the invitations is a great way to save. Imho, vistaprint is fine. If the bride's budget is not an issue, imho, Vera is the way to go.

Re Vistaprint....I have gotten a ton of things from them. I have personalized post cards for welcome bags; personalized note cards to put in the bags and programs. I also have a ton of other stuff that is not paper. Everything is great quality.

I ordered mine on VP, but FH and I really hated them. They were super thin and the border was printed with white lines on the back side. We got our money back and got a kit from Michael's. I love the new ones and we printed them ourselves with no hassle at all. I got 2 kits, 50 in each for $15 a piece.

@Carole B, my point is that you can get something that is 10x better quality for the SAME cost. In many cases, you might just need to trust a pro to help you find them. VP has mixed reviews. Us dealers have a higher standard. Your comment/comparison is quite extreme.

@Goskell...My point is with the many deals that vistaprint offers(sometimes shipping costs only), for the girls on a budget, money could be spent in different areas. I hardly doubt a printing company can match shipping only costs.

In addtion, just because someone went with something less expensive, it does not mean they are having a "cheap" wedding. I have no doubt dealers have a higher standard. HOwever, some girls may get something nice on vistaprint or print your own invites and be having a reception that is over the top. They have taken the money they could have spent on pricier invites and put it on something of more importance to them in their reception budget.

I got the wedding kit from VP, all the invites, and everything they put in there looked nice to me. I know of a few people how used VP, and loved their invites. They have a lot more of a selection than 123print.com

Address labels come free if you find the right sale link... so don't pay for them.

Also, here is a discussion that gives ideas for other free things you can order that are Not invites.
