VistaPrint - Postcard Save The Dates

Brit12, on June 10, 2015 at 3:09 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 21

I'm wondering for the brides who used VistaPrint for your SOD, did anyone make postcards? I'm looking to do a postcard SOD and you can either pick, postcards 50 for $10.00 or you can pick save the dates 10 for $6.50 and put the post card back on it.

Did anyone do either of these? And if you did the 50 for $10.00 were you happy with the quality of the post card? I'm assuming the SOD's under the wedding invitation and stationary section might have nicer paper quality? Better card stock?

Also did anyone do a custom image on their order? And was metallic an option? I have this beautiful save the date that I had designed off Fiverr, but the gold she has used looks like a metallic and will only look pretty printed if it's metallic. I just want to make sure they do custom orders with metallic gold.

Any kind of advice on this would really help me out.

Below is the SOD I'd like to print with VistaPrint.

I printed STD postcards from VistaPrint (used one of their designs and upgraded to glossy photo paper.) It was awesome quality! But I had to print out labels vs writing the addresses since the cardstock was shiny.

I used Vistaprint for our STDs. I used regular STDs and not postcards. I also added a picture to mine. I was extremely happy with how they turned out (see photo). I didn't upload my own design so I don't know if they have the metallic option but I don't think they do. You do have the option to upgrade the card stock when you are checking out. Also Vistaprint regularly runs a 40% off sale so be sure to wait for the next time it comes around (sign up for email alerts!)

We did ours through Vistaprint and with discounts and a $10 code they sent as thanks for a previous order we got 100 postcards for $16 with upgraded paper. We ended up being a few short so I had to order another 50 and honestly the basic cardstock worked better than the upgraded. From what I can tell all of the wedding Save the Date templates can be found under the business category so definitely order under business and not wedding.

I didn't want to do labels and even on the glossy the Papermate Flair and the ink didn't smudge after placing them to the side for just a few minutes.

I did the Vistaprint postcards, vs the STDS, because I specifically asked a Vistaprint customer support person whether there was any difference whatsoever in quality of ink or paper, and they said no! There is absolutely nothing better about the STDs. That's the wedding tax at it's finest Smiley sad

Definitely go with the postcards and save money!

ETA: however, if you're looking for quality metallic printing, I would not go with Vistaprint

I did Vistaprint postcard save the dates (50 for $10). It's a little tricky to get to, but they do have a whole section of STDs that are already in postcard format. Here's the link:

I loved my STDs. They turned out really awesome and I have gotten so many compliments on them. I highly recommend them.

I did my STD's from Vistaprint, and I love them. I got 50 for $10. But at this point I think it's too late to send them as invitations go out in another 8 weeks, which we haven't even decided on.

I got these from Vistaprint - I made magnets and designed my own image, but they turned out great! I can't wait to mail them...although I am. Smiley smile I'm thinking I'm sending them this fall sometime. I still need to get more addresses anyway.

We ordered 100 of the small postcards and uploaded our own design (front and back). It cost us less than $30 including shipping. I was very pleased with everything from the quality to the shipping times.

I used vistaprint for our save the dates. They were postcards with a custom image on the front. You truly can't beat the price, but to be honest I was a little disappointed with the quality of the image. I used a high res photo but if you look closely at the postcards the printing isn't the best. Another thing is that I received some feedback from people that the postcards got scratched up in the mail more than a postcard should, suggesting the paper/printing quality isn't as good as it should be. I ended up using catprint.com for my invitations and they were a great company to work with for a great price. I don't know if I'd use vistaprint again.

Mine came out great through vistaprint. but some of my guests didn't get theirs despite having a proper address and included a return address on them so they didn't get returned to me either.

I did STD postcards through Vistaprint and they came out fine for our purpose. I designed and uploaded my own image to the front and I personalized the back! We didn't use the save the date ones...just the small postcard. Shipping was super quick. I wouldn't say that it's the BEST picture quality but it worked and we got tons of compliments!! They have a metallic option for business cards...but not STDs Smiley sad

I would upload mine but idk how to save the preview from VP to upload it as a file!

We used them for std post cards and we were super happy with them. The quality was great. We had a friend design the front but it printed really nicely. We were really happy with them.

I was very happy with our save the date postcards from vista print. I ordered from the business section not the invite section, but I did upgrade the paper to the 130lb glossy and I added a color backside. It was still a great deal and I was impressed with the quality. I actually had the opposite experience as Kmess, I was not impressed with cat print. I ordered our invites from there but ended up canceling my order because the proof was so bad.

I did mine and got them back last week. I did the standard postcards, and added a picture. I was worried, but am very happy with them. For the addresses, I printed them on the computer.

We did! I actually didn't like any of their STD designs and we didn't want a picture, so I started looking at the business ones. We ended up with a pretty woods scene (we're getting married at a summer camp) and I added the words. They're really nice and just waiting to be sent!
