VistaPrint Question - Probably Silly...

Jules, on January 15, 2013 at 11:28 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

This is probably the easiest thing in the world and I just can't figure it out - spatial reasoning skills aren't my forte! I'm trying to do my save the dates through VP (I'm doing the upload your own image template) and I cannot figure out the sizing. VP keeps cutting off my photo, I keep sizing it smaller, but can't seem to get the ratio. Anyone know the correct dimensions of the VP STDs? (I swear I've looked for this on the website itself, in the description or whatever, and cannot find it!)

This just shows how terrible I am at this... I'm not even sure. I'm going to invitations and announcements - wedding - save the date. Just a rectangle template comes up, it looks postcard sized but it doesn't actually say postcard? Am I just DIY helpless? Haha!

Are you just uploading a photo or a completed invite?

If you are designing your invite in another program and uploading a complete design, download the template 1st for the size item you wish to make. This will guarantee the image will fit with out being cut off.

    http://www.vistaprint.com/propath/choose-product.aspx?xnav=foot

all the size templates are under "invites"

Also, it is WAY to early for you to be ordering your invitations and stuff. Design and order your save the dates if you wish. Remember, who ever gets a save the date needs to get an invite to the wedding, so if your budget gets tight, you can't cut anyone from the guest list that gets a Save the Date.

If budget is tight, design the Save the Dates on the Postcard templates - 100 glossy postcards are free.

Thanks Hayley that template will be a hugggggggeee help! And for whatever reason I didn't even notice the drop down, I knew I was just being silly and missing something obvious!

Don't worry, Definitely not ordering my invitations anytime in the near future. Just designing STDs at the moment because I'm on break from grad school. They won't be going out until later in the spring anyway, just getting the designing done while I have the time/before grad work takes over my life for the semester!

And I know about the STD/invite rule ( I actually know someone who got a save the date to a wedding and it an invite, but that's another story...). Almost all of our guests are OOT and its just after the holidays, so I want to do STDs for travel planning. Smiley smile
