I think it's sweet if you've been married for a long time. 5 year vow renewal? Not so much...

I think it is sweet, I got married at the court house last year, but we are having our wedding on our one year anniversary, so technically speaking it is a vow renewal

If it's meaningful to the couple I say sweet.

If it was me though, I would only include other people if it was a really, really big milestone, like 30 plus years, or if there was some compelling reason it was important - like if we were reconciling or something.

It's sweet. A bit silly to do every year, but a milestone anniversary is nice way to go.

I think the idea behind a vow renewal is sweet.. I think it's important to remember and do your best to live your vows day-to-day. A couple could have a sweet vow renewal every day or every year, if they wanted to!

But the reality of having a mini-wedding, spending the money, and asking your friends and family to spend their time and money celebrating your union - I think is only sweet if it's for a significant anniversary, or to commemorate something particularly special in the relationship.

*These opinions do not necessarily apply to people who had JOP or micro-weddings and are doing a "vow renewal" in order to have the bigger celebration with their family and friends that they didn't have originally.

I think it is very sweet, the idea that 2 people love each other enough to get married again is priceless! how many people wouldn't and couldn't do this.

I do think it's sweet and that's what me and my husband are going for. We got married in the city were he's stationed in and as it was too far, we couldn't have any family around, so it was only the court house ceremony.

both of our families wanted a ceremony in which they could attend so on the next month we'll have that. As my father in law is a officiant, he asked about doing a renewal and both of us understood that as a way to have something for them and still as special for us.

    i can't wait!

I love it. Some of my couples have had difficult years, and I think it's a great way to rededicate themselves to the marriage.

But I also have a couple that is trying to get married in every state!

I can see it for a re-dedication after a really really long bad patch but just to do it? Naw. I don't think it's silly....just not necessary. ::ducks and runs::
