Vows together (in unison)?

Sarah, on August 31, 2018 at 8:40 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 3
I was listening to a wedding podcast the other day and the hosts had an officiant/celebrant on who discussed having the couple recite their vows together (at the same time). I think this was in the context of having written their own vows, which we are planning on doing together. Has anyone been to a wedding where this was done?

Personally, I love the idea and am considering it. I think it would be especially meaningful to vow the same thing at the same time.

Like.... talking at the same time? Or he says one, then you say one?

Either way im not a huge fan personally, i know my FH and I- if we were to do this we would be focusing on speaking and what’s coming next, not on what’s actually being said. So for me personally it’s a no go!

Yes, responding together at the same time. The officiant would read one line at a time for us to repeat and we would repeat it together.

🙋‍♀️ I’m doing this for the ending of our vows. We will recite the last lines together! (Think game of thrones)
