Walk down the aisle

Caterra, on December 7, 2021 at 6:05 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 2 10

Thought? I want my mom to walk me down the isle because she was the most present and think she deserves that right. But.... i dont want to throw tradition out because my dad was still in my life and we have a good relationship. I have thought about them both walking me, my mom walking me down half the isle where we meet my dad and he walks with us the rest of the way.... any other ideas or thoughts?

You could have one on each arm. I’ve seen this done before Smiley smile

In Judaism it's actually tradition for both parents to walk the bride (and groom actually) down the aisle. You don't need to split it up. Just have them both walk you down the whole way.

My daughter recently got married and we were going to do the walk half way with her dad and then with me but it’s so awkward. We decided to both walk her down the aisle.

You can definitely have both of them walk you down the aisle.. nothing wrong with that.

Both my parents walked me down the aisle and it brought tears to some eyes. As someone else here has pointed out, it is a Jewish tradition, but I think it's a compliment for culture-specific traditions to be more widely practiced! After we got to the end of the aisle, I hugged my mom while my dad shook my groom's hand, and then my dad lifted my veil and kissed my cheek while my groom and my mom embraced. It was really nice. Smiley heart

It's your wedding. I've known of other brides who've had their moms walk them for whatever reason, and I've known others who had both parents. I think your idea of them meeting in the middle is a beautiful idea. Good luck!
