Walking down the aisle song?

Soon2beMrsHenderson, on July 24, 2014 at 1:15 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 22

My mom asked me what song I was walking down the aisle too, initially I thought the traditional wedding march. But then she played "At last" by Etta James and I almost cried! Do people rarely play songs or is either appropriate nowadays? Btw what is everyone playing for there first dance songs? Im in love with "How do I live" by LeAnn Rimes :-)

I think that picking a personal song is way more fun than the "wedding march" ...

I am thinking of a few ... either the Swan Song from Swan Lake or maybe even the intro to Game of Thrones ...I have a few songs that I just get SO EXCITED when I hear and I feel fit my personality. I am excited to find one that works =)

People play whatever they want. We went the more traditional route (with Cannon in D), but several people on here have walked down to various songs (both instrumental and those with words). Its really up to you.

Here is another one I am thinking about...since we have an Alice in Wonderland theme happening in little ways through our event.

Thats what I was thinking. Its more personal, I oddly already have my walking into the reception song. "Happy" by Pharrell :-) but the others are still tricky

Both the bridal party and I are walking down to songs with words... I absolutely love music and it's such a huge part of my life I could not imagine me walking down the the bridal march.

Walking down the aisle to: My string quartet is playing marry me- Train. It sounds so beautiful. When they played it for me, I teared up.

First dance song: You- Chris Young

My FH couldn't initially imagine anything other than the wedding march...whereas there was no way I wanted that traditional. I wanted to walk down to "Grow old with you" from the Wedding Singer...but he couldn't handle a song with words.

So...we have an acoustic guitarist playing the ceremony...he is going to play Grow Old with You to when everyone is seated before the ceremony actually starts...and then FH got to pick the song I am walking to. I am walking to "Can't Help Falling in Love," just played instrumentally. (Turns out it was his sister's first dance song, too, which he didn't even remember.) It was a compromise, but I think it will all go really well.

FYI, the rest of the wedding party is coming in to "The Feather Song," which is the theme from Forrest Gump and it's a really pretty instrumental song if anyone is looking for something simple but a bit offbeat.

I'm planning on a string instrumental of Marry You (by Bruno Mars). That song makes me think of proposals and weddings and makes me giddy!

We played At Last for one of our slow sets. A lot of ppl dancedSmiley smile do what whatever strikes the emotion in you. My bp walked to acoustic version of marry me (I even loved the words version) and I walked to acoustic here comes the sun. Hubby kept laughing at all the emo songs I was choosing and he really wanted something cheerful for when I walked downSmiley smile I was happy with it, I had the sun peeking through behind me as I walked down, it was fitting. I think if you're going to use something with words a classic is best. I didn't want to look back on my wedding day having chosen a trendy song I dunno. Lol

Umm...How Do I Live...I absolutely love that song. But I will be walking down to Giving Myself -jen Hudson and BMs will come down to I Promise -CeCe Winans. Two beautiful songs. It's pretty common where I am to have songs playing for processional

Our wedding party is walking to an instrumental to "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri and I will walk down to an instrumental of a cover of "Hallelujah" by Carly Rose Sonenclar. I'm not religious in the slightest but I think the song is beautiful and the instrumental (you can find it on youtube) makes my heart race. I just love it!

I chose a song that I have dedicated to FH since the day I first heard it. I am walking to "Golden" by Lady Antebellum, and, FH doesn't know it, but I will be hooked up to a headset mic and singing from the second verse on to him once I get down the aisle. I can't wait!

I let my FH decided what he wants me to walk down the aisle to. I was dead set on Bruno Mars Marry you... I just love the pace and it makes me happy but he is pretty much dead set on me walking down to All of me by John Legend.... Hopefully radio stations will quit playing it out so much by then!!

We're walking down the aisle to At Last. It was our first dance song at our 2004 wedding. Our new first dance song is When I Found You by Be Be Winans Smiley smile

My sister-in-law walked down the aisle to at last and it was beautiful! I walked down to the Canon in D. Our first dance song was Nat King Cole - I Love You (for sentimental reasons)

I wanted modern songs but I also wanted all instrumental music for the ceremony except for our recessional. So the BMs are walking into "Can't Help Falling in Love" by The Piano Guys and I'm walking into "Just the Way You Are" by The Piano Guys.

Our first dance is "So Easy" by Phillip Phillips.

Im walking down the aisle to a thousand years by piano guys. I don't really like the traditional bride walk song.

Our first dance is All my life by KC and JoJo
