Walking Down the Aisle with no Bridal Party

Alli, on May 31, 2018 at 10:22 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 5

Has anyone walked down the aisle without a bridal party or parents?

Im torn between walking down WITH my fiance, or walking down with my pup?

How does it work if no one else walks down except bride/bride&groom?

A lot of people do this, so I wouldn't stress over it too much. You can walk down the aisle by yourself or with your pup, but I would avoid walking down with FI, as they traditionally wait for you at the altar.

Hi Alli!Smiley heart I think the pup idea would be so cute and there is absolutely nothing wrong with walking down the aisle alone! Smiley smile We have other couples who have expressed the same concerns about walking down the aisle alone, come check out one of the discussions! Walking Down The Aisle Alone

But how does it work? If no bridal party... does music just start, I walk down, music ends?

Yes. This is pretty much how it goes even if you had a bridal party. After the guests are seated, music plays and you would begin your walk down the aisle. You can have your guests stand as you walk down or stay seated, its up to you. Then when you reach the end of the aisle the music fades away.

We did! A small DW so no WP for us either. DH & I walked down (and back) the aisle together and it was so nice to hold his hand since I was nervous (and we got extra photos of us together). Other brides here said they walked half-way to their partner who was waiting in the middle and they walked the rest of the way together. Aw. So sweet. Do what feels right to you!

It's nice if your musician can start playing at least 10 minutes before the ceremony as a key for guests to take their seats. You'll choose your processional song (and recessional song for when you exit), but your venue coordinator or DOC can help cue you for when it's time for you to enter in case you don't hear or recognize your processional song.
