Walking down the aisle

Brianna, on September 7, 2021 at 4:36 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 2 8
Hello everybody!

In my whole life I have only been to one wedding and that was when I was way younger so I hardly remember it. I know nothing about weddings, how they work and the order things go. Me and my fiancée are both women so things may be different for us anyway (like we both want to be walked down the aisle). I was wonder how does walking down the aisle go? Who goes first, second and so on? When do the flower girl and ring bearer go. Just trying figure out how we may work with different ideas we have and some we may come up with! Thank you!

Idk who would go first but maybe you could have you entire bridal party walk out and then either of you can walk down followed by the other bride. Or if you want you both can meet at the top of the aisle and walk together.

We had one song for grandparents, my groom’s dad and stepmom, and our mothers walk down the aisle. Our moms lit candles once they came to the altar. The second song, we had the bridal party walk down first, then ring bearers/flower girls, then myself and my dad. If I were in your shoes, it would be nice to have each of you have that special moment down the aisle. In Modern Family when Cam and Mitchell married, that’s how they did it and I really liked it (one of my favorite episodes) ❤️

For my sister in law's wedding, they had the bridal party, then the ring bearer, then flower children. After that, her wife walked down with her parents and then my sister in law walked down with her parents. I think it flowed well. They considered walking down together but decided they wanted that moment with their parents.

Both of my fiancée parents passed. My father has been like a father to her and I think she would want him but don’t want to ask me because she knows I want him to walk me down. I was thinking of having him walk us both down together. Still thinking about it.

This is a wonderful and meaningful idea!! That would resolve the "who goes first" thing. Maybe you can each walk in from the sides to meet up with your dad in the middle and he then can walk you both down the aisle

I think that would be nice. Have him walk in first then you come in and stand on the left and she can come in and stand on the right and all three of you can walk as one.
