So I have been following this YouTuber who is prepping for her wedding and noticed one of her slim down videos encouraged walking on the treadmill at a 15 incline with a speed of 3.0-3.3 for 45-50 minutes 5-6 times a week.

I was a bit skeptical but after a run/jog I decided to up the incline as much as I could while keeping a good pace (I only made it to 7 incline) but I was looking at the calories and they were melting off. My heart rate was around 155 too.

How did I not think of this sooner?! I am definitely adding in some incline training to my week and hopefully it helps firm up my legs and butt too.

Anyone else do incline stuff? Any tips?

For future reference- whenever you are on a treadmill always put the incline at 1%. That is the equivalent of running outside. As for increasing intensity, you can either increase speed or incline and it does the same thing.

Also have y'all tried putting to 2 together? For example play with the incline and increase 1% every 30 seconds then hold it at the top for 5 minutes. Bring the treadmill down and do some sprints. Then repeat!

For HR, don't look at machines. They tend to error if you are around someone else with a HR monitor on and will always read higher.

    Great job ladies! Smiley smile

I do this at the gym as well as slowing the speed down but keeping the same incline to do squats, lunges etc. I hardly ever get on the treadmill without it being at 15. I feel like I'm building muscle while getting my cardio in so I hate it less.
