Walters Wedding Estates/difficult Venues

Octavia, on July 3, 2020 at 9:56 AM Posted in Texas Planning 0 3
Is anyone else having issues with this company? They have venues across the state of Texas and currently undergoing a class action lawsuit. They have refused to postpone any of their weddings for COVID-19 despite the recent high case numbers nor give any money back. Wasn’t sure if we were the only couple experiencing this or if any of your venues were being difficult to deal with during this time.

YES. A MILLION TIMES OVER. We were scheduled for 4/4 at the Chapel at Ana Villa in Dallas, but we of course rescheduled because everything was shut down. They let us too, without complaint. But we are of course weary about our new date as well thanks to the rising numbers. We were rescheduled for August 15th, and they're refusing to let us postpone because they can technically be open. 😪 Its so FRUSTRATING. We may end up using it for elopement because they won't let us move it and our families should not travel for a wedding anyway. Our big wedding will definitely be at a different venue - I hope they learn the lesson from angry brides everywhere. We're just exhausted and they're not helping. I hope things work out for you guys. Lord knows we all need it.

Makes me feel better that we aren’t the only ones! We’ve gone back and forth, speaking with managers who told us the same thing, nothing they can do.. They’ve literally put money over human life IMO. We’ve been so frustrated through this whole process 😒

We are thinking of just doing a formal ceremony there, but not having drinks or refreshments since guests will have to take off their masks. Then down the road on our anniversary, do a big reception somewhere else once all this blows over.

That's kind of what we're thinking. We talked with them too, and they basically told us we have no options. It's so frustrating because neither of us want to lose our parents over losing our money. We figured we'd rather replan everything then deal with people travelling right now. A formal ceremony with everyone who's in Dallas followed by a different ceremony once things blow over.
