Hey all!
I wanted to share our simple centerpieces... They didn't quite go to plan, but I thought it would be fun for you to see.
We decided to do Scrabble boards with cute sayings on each one. Here are a couple of them for you to see. I had intended for the extra tiles to be put around the board so that people could play while they were at the reception if they wanted to, but I didn't tell my coordinator that, so she didn't know and put them out. However, she put a couple of boards out near the gift table and memory table with lots of spare tiles, and a couple of community games spread up at those boards.
People loved the idea and it was fun and memorable. And easy and cheap! I found a bunch of spare boards on eBay (something like 7 boards for $15) and a bunch of folks gave them to us from yard sales and such. I found a big bag of tiles on Amazon also really cheaply and just put them together. For ten tables, it was less than $75. Someone gave us the votives, so we didn't even have to pay for those!
Hope this inspires someone! We thought about doing different board games at each table, and probably would have done that if we still lived in the area, but since we wound up moving halfway across the country four months before the wedding, we didn't have our stash at hand! I think we came up with a great alternative.
