Warm jewel tones for summer wedding?

KDS, on January 6, 2016 at 8:11 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9

My wedding colors keep evolving and I have most recently fallen in love with warm jewel tones. My dress has gold undertones and I have narrowed down the bridesmaid dresses to either David's Bridal Wine or Marine. I am leaning towards the wine color, but then my colors would be gold, cream, wine, and possibly blush. We are doing succulents for the centerpieces and bouquets.

So I guess I'm wondering if it's okay to have "winter" colors for a summer wedding? Any tips on how to make my color choices more summery? I have attached my inspo pics.

That's gorgeous. It doesn't scream winter to me. If you wanted more summery do a brighter color.

I think if it's short and a light fabric it's fine for summer.

These don't scream winter to me either. Especially the dress being short and having ruffles. To me that's very summer.

Ah! These are my colors Smiley smile So, obviously I love them!

And the only picture on here that seems winter to me is the bouquet. Maybe pick brighter greens in the bouquet to lighten it up. But honestly, I don't really think you have to play by the rules when it comes to winter vs. summer colors.

I agree with the others. The color is gorgeous, and the dress style looks "summery" to me. I say go for it.

Yea this is gorgeous! I think if you add some blush like you were thinking of, it wouldn't seem wintery at all!

Have u seen the David's marine color in person? I was considering it for my girls dresses but found it to be extremely dark in person, almost black. The wine sounds gorgeous and I love the idea of wine and navy for a summer wedding

I love this palette! I am also a summer wedding and was thinking about this "cranberry" color. Very pretty! Ultimately, it's your wedding, so pick a color palette you like.

@ Kmess- I haven't seen either color in person, but thanks for the tip! I will stop by and make sure that I like color in person. Online pictures are so deceiving.

@ everyone else- thank you for positive feedback!
