We got engaged in July 2011 and the tentative date is November 5, 2012.

    - We chose over a year ahead to give us time to save without touching our emergency fund.

    - We picked the month because it isn't one of the peak wedding months. We picked the week because it is a few weeks back from Thanksgiving, and isn't getting too close to travel conflicts, but far enough ahead that we may have a nice layer of snow.

    - We chose a Monday is because my family owns a restaurant that is closed on Mondays, (and closes early on Sundays).

    - We also chose the reception venue not only for the view, but they have a church congregation that gathers there on Sunday morning, but from Sunday afternoon until Monday night, we may be allowed access to the place early, unless someone books a Sunday night event.

To summarize, our date was strategy Smiley smile

No meaning per se, BUT I read somewhere that the Belelvue Art Show schedules their event every last weekend of July because, according to the Farmer's Almanac, it never rains on that day in this area.. I haven't researched the vadility of this, but this year it stood to be true Smiley winking

Ciara, I admit that I am jealous. I'd get married on 9/10/11 if I could!

We started dating on Saturday August 25th, 2007. Five years later we will be married on Saturday August 25th, 2012! When I figured out how well the dates worked out my FH decided to stop procrastinating on the proposal!

We didn't care when we got married. We didn't want a summer month because neither of us really like hot weather.

We went with February because not much is going on and where we live (Toronto, Canada) it's really cold in February. (possibly snowy and icy too) So, for future anniversaries it seems like a good time to get away if desired. (we don't do much for Valentine's day so we don't count that as a holiday)

Biggest plus, everything is much less expensive in the off-season!

No real meaning, more about convenience... our leases were both ending around July, which made it easier for us to move in together after the wedding, and I'm a graduate student so summer was really the only option anyway. lol Smiley smile

7/24/10... I mean, if you think about it, it's like 24/7 only backwards, which is kind of cool... haha

Well we've chosen June because in July my husband has a month holiday. So we are married, one week to go to work again and arrange stuff. Left for a month honeymoon!

Not to our relationship. But it is a beautiful time of the year down here in the deep south, not too buggy or muggy, just gorgeous!

We did find out on the way home from booking when I called my mom that it was my grandparents anniversary, which made her cry (happily). My grandparents were married for over 50 years before my granddaddy passed away, and although both of them have been gone for a while now, I will smile knowing they are looking down on me that day.

We wanted to do it in October because that's when we started dating and that's when we bought our house and we picked the 1st because he said he could remember that and it happened to fall on a sat.
