Water in Centerpieces

Elizabeth, on August 10, 2013 at 6:19 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Hello All!!! I am using the popular 3 different size vases for my centerpieces. I did a DIY trial and the bubbles from the water was horrible. how do I get rid of the bubbles in the water? Thanks in advance

Distilled water. That'll make it so there's no bubbles.

SXC is right, use distilled water.

I never had issues with bubbles in my vases. I just used tap water too. But I don't know if distillers water is good for all plants.

Distilled water will be fine for any plants, in fact, they may do better with it, as it won't have any extra minerals.

Wow, one of the little facts I've learned from growing carnivorous plants have come in handy! *LOL*

You can also use tap water and let it sit for awhile, the bubbles should disburse over time. Depends on how long it'll be sitting before others see it.

From a pro who has done a lot of submerged vases, that's a heck of a lot of bottles of distilled water to cart to your reception (and a huge added cost).

Submerged flowers take a lot of set-up time - I suggest doing regular faucet water; the bubbles will dissipate in a couple of hours.

I was a BM in a wedding and the bride ran her water from a hose the night before the wedding.

Thanks everyone! I think I'll do another trial run and wait to see how long it takes for the bubbles to go away.

The water needs to be added on site. Otherwise, you will have a big water mess on your hands. This seems like a simple DIY, but it is time consuming. You will need friends to do this for you because you will be too busy with getting your hair done, makeup, photos, follow up on details, etc.

Old kitchen tip is to boil water before putting it into ice cube trays in order to have clear ice cubes.

But to do that on site will take time to boil the water, let it cool, then put it into the vases.
