Wax seal on invites?

I got a wax seal kit to put on our wedding invite envelopes. But how durable is the wax? Should I put them into another envelope to mail out?

I'm going to do the same thing and I would say yes. This is what I'm going to do because I'm afraid the seal will get lost

I'm not sure how durable they are because we decided against it. I know that I was told the envelopes had to be hand cancelled at the post office and they said it was an extra fee. Also that sometimes they get stuck in the sorter and the seal is torn off. If you do use them I would put the seal on the inner envelope not the outer.

Everything goes through machines, hand cancelled or not. The invites for a friend's wedding got all ripped up and opened because seals got caught in machines.
