Wax timing before wedding?

Tracey, on May 10, 2021 at 2:52 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
Not sure if this is TMI but I’m wanting to get a brazilian wax before the wedding/honeymoon. I’ve always wanted one but I just never had a good enough excuse to brave it out. My wedding is in 5 days already, I kind of forgot in the thick of all the last minute planning. Is this too soon in case of any irritation?! Like I said I don’t know what to expect or how timing should go!!

Usually any irritatiin goes away after a day or so. I would go ahead and schedule for the next few days. Just make sure your hair is a good length. It shouldn't be too long or too short for the wax. I forgot the exact length, but you can look it up online.

TMI question, but have you shaved recently? You definitely need to make sure you've grown out some before getting a wax! They've always told me to use the length of rice as a good reference.

I love waxes, but one other thing to consider with it being your first time, you likely won't be baby butt smooth. The first couple of times I got a Brazilian, I wasn't as smooth as I normally would be with a good razor. The techs warned me about that beforehand, and it was fine! But if you want a silky smooth finish for your honeymoon, I may would invest in a really good razor for now -- just if it were me! And start waxing after the trip! You aren't supposed to shave after getting the wax, and if your first time experience is anything like mine, it won't be the feel you want for your honeymoon!

But if you do decide to do it, go ahead and book something for a couple of days away if you can! My irritation usually goes away after a day at most. But that may depend on your skin sensitivity too!

You need at least a full 24 hours recovery before sex after a Brazilian and most good places likely won’t have last minute availability. Also you need 3-4 weeks growth to be effective. I’d suggest skipping this time, but try it down the road. I love it! It grows back way thinner if you keep up Maintenence but I think you’re too close to the wedding day.

I'm not sure I would pull this trigger if you haven't had one before. You don't know how you will react and there would be nothing worse than an irritation on your wedding day. If you opt to get one I recommend getting it done sooner than later to allow as much time as possible.

I have to agree with PP.

Some people take well to waxing - I never had any irritation, even my first time.

But some people react poorly. Bumps, bleeding, splotchy red. You don't want to find out the day before your wedding that you are "some people."

I'd skip it this time and give it a try another time when you don't have an important event looming.

I feel like there is no set timing, because everyone's body reacts differently. I never have any problem after waxing but if this is your fist time then you won't know. I would suggest getting it done ASAP if your wedding is coming up

Everyone reacts differently and if it’s this close to the wedding I would say no. Not sure how you will react. I had a reaction first time I got waxed under my arms. You definitely don’t want to experience that during your wedding/honeymoon I would wait.
