So I have a few questions about waxing my “hair down there” for the wedding and honeymoon.
I’ve literally never even gotten my eyebrows waxed so I’m a little nervous. I plan to get my brows and mustache waxed soon and I found a salon with amazing reviews but I’m still so nervous.i want to get either a Brazilian or just my bikini done. We are honeymooning in Florida and I plan to be in a swimsuit for the majority of the day. So here’s my questions
1) is it worth it? I’ve been shaving for 10 years now so I know what I’m doing but I kind of want to treat myself and also make sure there’s no spots that get missed.
2) Brazilian or bikini? The only reason I would get a Brazilian is for FH but he’s seen me at my worst and literally doesn’t care. But also go big or go home, right?
3) i know everyone’s pain tolerance is different but on a scale of 1-my keg just fell off how bad is the pain?
4) should I start it now? My wedding is on November 4th so I have a bit. Would it be smarter to have my first time not be so close to the wedding? Or should I be okay?

I’m stubborn too haha but that’s why I suggested you getting it done NOW to see if you like it or not. If you don’t like it, guess what? That’s fine! You can go back to shaving and you’ll have plenty of time before your big day! If you do like it, great! You’ll know what to expect moving forward and by the time your wedding comes around you’ll be a pro!

As someone who has been waxing eyebrows, legs, etc. for years I can tell you it is wonderful. My hair grows very quickly so I was at the point with shaving where I’d shave my legs in the morning and it would be stubbly before the day was over. Ughh. Waxing saved me! It looks good for about 2 weeks for me... and like I said, I have very fast growing hair. I know some people only have to do it once a month.

The only issues are: if you have sensitive skin (I’d do a test patch on your leg before committing to your bikini or eyebrow area to make sure you don’t react badly!) and if you mind *some* thin light hairs. Waxing doesn’t get you as flawlessly smooth as shaving does... but it basically makes it “good enough” for a whole lot longer. I frequently notice very thin, very light hairs on my legs a week or two after waxing, but I guarantee no one else can see it because it’s so faint so I don’t mind. But if you’re a perfectionist and can’t stand going out with even the tiniest bit of hair, waxing won’t be good for you.

    To directly answer your questions:
    1) yes, I think it is worth it to not have to worry about hair removal for a couple weeks! The only issue being you have to let grow out to a certain extent before you wax again (longer than you do to just shave it) but it is usually thin, light hairs. It’s a personal preference, but I’d prefer the thin light hairs towards the end of the month, rather than the stubble every day from shaving.
    2) DO NOT do Brazilian on your first time! Personally I don’t think bikini hurts that badly. But Brazilian is VERY painful. I’m not telling you NOT to do it at all, but definitely ease yourself in and get a regular bikini wax until you get used to it! If you feel like you can handle more, then do Brazilian next time.
    3) pain depends on your threshold. Like I said, I recommend a test patch first. Everyone is different. Personally I think the ankle area hurts more than the bikini area, but that’s just me. I also don’t think eyebrows hurt at all, just a little pinch. But it totally depends on the person. Also the more you do it, the less it hurts because your body develops a tolerance.
    4) definitely start ASAP. The hair grows back slower, lighter, and thinner every time you wax. My mom has been waxing her legs for about 30 years and her leg hair takes literally about 3 months to even be noticeable! Obviously it will take decades to get to that point 😂 but the more you have done it, the less it will hurt, the slower and thinner it will grow back, and you will get to see how your skin reacts to it before the wedding. For me, the day after I wax, my skin is always bright red. It doesn’t hurt, but it looks like a rash and is NOT flattering, so I never wax my legs the day before I do anything important, I always do it 2 days before! I’m getting married on a Sunday and plan to get my legs waxed Thursday night. Will still be perfectly smooth by Sunday and redness will be completely gone. Definitely give yourself the next couple months to see how you react to it!

    Hope this helped!
