Waxing before the wedding?

Hera💙, on August 19, 2019 at 3:12 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7

I'm considering getting a body wax before my wedding. But I've never gotten a body wax before. I want to wax my shoulders, chest, back, etc. Basically everything except the bikini area. Many websites are saying that I should get it done once before the actual one before the wedding, but it was for bikini waxes.

Any tips?

I still think that you should try it at least once before the wedding to see how your skin reacts. I would probably do it ASAP since your wedding is coming up soon.

I think you should get it done once before the wedding just so you know when your body stops being irritated/sore. I get brazilian waxes every month, and it can take 2-3 days for the waxed area to stop being sore. If you're not going to get it done beforehand, at least get it waxed 2-3 days before the wedding just so it's not hurting.

Ya get done at least a month before the wedding and then again (if needed) a week before. I would recommend laser hair removal over waxing but something you’d start several months-a year before.

If you don't wax, I don't think it's worth it unless you start now. Your hair needs to be the size of a rice grain (so 3-4 weeks or so) but your hair grows on different cycles so doing 1 right before if you don't normally do them won't give you the results you are hoping for.

Coming from someone terrified of getting waxed, I would stick to shaving and splurge on a really nice razor to use the night before/day of. If you do decide to wax, definitely have it done beforehand. My sister waxes regularly and she's always told me it's something to adjust to.

I would recommend finding someone on Yelp in your area that's highly recommended for waxing. Chat with her about your dates and see if there is time to do a test wax before the big day. Waxing is great, but you just want to make sure your skin won't break out or anything before the wedding.

Waxing hurts no more than ripping a band aid off . . Nothing to be afraid of. Definitely start as soon as possible. I get a bikini wax every 5 weeks and only is tender for 1 day, but then again I've been waxing for over 5 years.
