Waxing......you know where

Emily, on February 21, 2017 at 2:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 52

Okay so I'm considering getting a Brazilian wax for the wedding night. But I am freaking SCARED! I'm uncomfortable with the whole thing and terrified it will hurt SO bad. Is it worth it ladies? What's the best advice?

DO IT!!! I posted this same question, and everyone told me how amazing it is so I started! I LOVE it. Basing off your wedding date you need to start now. The more you wax, the less it hurts. My FH loves it Smiley smile

So worth it. Don't wait till close to your wedding. Get at least 2 or 3 sessions in.

I do it, love it, I get it done monthly.

Yes it can be painful the first few times, until you get used to it.

I would recommend going soon, and for the month or two leading up to your wedding. You don't know how your skin will react and I'd hate for you to be uncomfortable. Definitely try it!

If you have a European Wax Center in your area, I highly recommend them!

Don't do it. I followed all the recommended things people will post here, including going to a European Wax Center. It fucking hurt and I couldn't walk the rest of the day. And I was bleeding.

@MrsD did you think having thick coarse hair being ripped from your vaginal regions was going to feel good?

How much hair to do you have to have to start getting it done?? I have a huge issue with hair and will shave every single day so do I need to wait like a week or so and do it? I've been wanting to do it for my wedding and would love to start!

Mrs D. a little bit of blood is normal. Similar to plucking or waxing your eyebrows. I am sorry you had such a bad experience.

I highly recommend European Wax Center too. They have a 15 minute policy, they get you in and out.

If you are worried about pain, try tylenol before and look for places that use sugar wax.

Totally worth it. Pop a few advil about 20 minutes before and let them go to town.

It does hurt, but only for a few seconds. A good waxer will also try to make small talk with you while they work, so you have something to distract you while they yank away.

I had redness/bumps for a few days and I was a bit swollen, but as long as you don't do anything to irritate it immediately after (tight jeans, working out, lotions, etc.) it should heal fine with little or no irritation.

Do a sugar and not a wax. Way better and way less painful

Skip the wax, I use a cream hair remover for coarse hair. I think its called shower power or something. You can get it at walmart. The best thing- its pain free!

I've been getting brazilians for about 4-5 now will never ever go back to shaving.

However, if you're bleeding afterward you had a shit waxer. I've had waxers that left me bruised before, too, and that is NOT normal. But if you survive that you'll do a million times better with a decent waxer.

European Wax Center has levels based on color and I think you want an Orange waxer. The highest is Red but their focus is 100% on getting you in and out quickly which is not totally in your best interest. Orange waxers are very, very good at their jobs but take a little extra time which leaves their customers a more comfortable. This is all based on what my girl at EWC told me, so I could be getting the details wrong... just fair warning.

Yes, it hurts, especially the first time or if you're "overgrown" but it's a very short-lived pain and totally worth it. Also, after 4 years, it grows back so much thinner and sparser!

Make sure you are well rested the night before, I went once after working a night shift and it hurt way more than normal. Also don't go right before or on your period, you are more sensitive. Also like @keke said if it is an option get sugared, it's slightly less painful during but far less after.

@KARIE - Do you have a link to what you use? I refuse to pay for a wax every few weeks, but every time I shave there I get awful razor burn and it itches like crazy and is only smooth for like 3 seconds. Would love to try a hair removal cream.

I've went to specialty Brazilian wax centers with awesome reviews and gave it a good chance for about 6 months. The pain never became beret and I hated having to wait until the hair was long enough to do it again. I'd rather shave. Definitely cons to that too (not as smooth and can be tricky to do), but in my personal experience it is much better overall. I'll probably do a Brazilian only for the wedding/honeymoon but not for my regular upkeep.

Definitely don't do it for the first time right before the wedding. It does hurt, but it is worth it but when it starts to grow back it is uncomfortable. To support my advice imagine going 2 days before your big day and having a skin reaction to the wax and it being all red and irritated down there (yikes!) that happened to my friend once luckily she didn't have a wedding coming up.

I do sugaring but I leave a strip of sorts because FH says bare makes him feel like he's doing a toddler... SMH whatever that means. But I prefer sugaring and agree that you need to start now. Usually every 3 to 4 weeks depending on your growth. But soon it won't grow fast at all and you can go longer. It has to be a certain length before you can go again.

Do the BUTT last it's not painful at all and it makes you feel better after the pain of the special place. If your lady is anything like my Noma she will tell you to take a deep breath before. Exhaling when she rips helps ALOT!
