Waxing?

Christiana198, on August 7, 2016 at 11:08 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 28

So I am curious. What's your opinion on waxing ? I'm thinking under arms and the bikini area for wedding / honeymoon? Is waxing awkward , painful worth it ?

I have tried it a few times, but it is not my personal preference as I am usually sore for one to two days after. If you do decide try it, please don't let your first time be before your wedding/honeymoon. As you may have poor experience/reaction and that is not how you would like to start your honeymoon. Also, the first time is usually the worst.

I get waxed every 5 weeks. I will be getting waxed the thursday before our wedding. I am doing underarms and a Brazilian. At first it is awkward, but you get used to it. For me the most awkward part is growing out a massive bush and having super hairy pits for a couple weeks!

I work as a receptionist at a waxing salon. I've had waxing done on nearly everything. I swear by it ! It is not painless, but it is so temporary, and the results last SO much longer than shaving. I would definitely say give it a try. Make sure anywhere that you are having waxed is about a 1/4 inch or longer hair so it should pull out easier.

I like it but make sure you try it well in advance to see how you react. My face gets red bumps if I do my eyebrows.

Also if you do bikini make sure you find someone with good reviews. I had someone once that couldn't get all the wax off down there and I ended up with bruises and contusions.

I go to European Wax Center and I love it. Make sure you try it out first, a month before the wedding!

Full Brazilian! Hurts like hell, but then it's like a slip n slide! I'd get everything lasered if I could, though. I hate shaving.

I love it, it's definitely not painless but it's so worth it! I get pretty much everything waxed every few weeks. I second the ladies here that you should definitely try it once if not twice before your big day because everyone reacts differently to it. The first time I tried it years ago my skin was definitely not loving it but after I went a couple of times it was amazing and I've done it ever since.

European Wax Center of you have one. They use hard wax which while it still hurts, it pulls the hair and not the skin. As soon as the hair is gone, even with the wax for the few hairs that are stubborn, it does not hurt then. Everyone I have been to are very good and professional- they do it for a living and have never felt judged there. Would recommend hard was over strip wax!

I go to the European Wax Center too! You should so do it! They also have an ingrown hair serum that is great! But like pp said, don't let your first time be right before the wedding.

Do no sooner than 3-4 days before the wedding. It can get itchy otherwise.

Started waxing (full Brazilian) over a year ago and haven't looked back. I go every 3-4 weeks, also to European Wax Center. It hurts like a bitch but by the time I'm on my way home from the appointment I don't even remember the pain.

I've done underarms and face but I have really sensitive skin so I'd do a trial run before the actual trip so you're not raw and such!

Definitely pro waxing. It hurts less the more you go since the hair grows thinner. Don't shave between sessions. You're pretty much defeating the purpose that way. I used to go every 6 weeks and now it's like every 9 weeks since the hair just doesn't grow as fast anymore. I usually take a pain killer 30-45 mins before a session and highly recommend being very hydrated. It makes a big difference. Just make sure you do it a couple times before your wedding so if you do react, you'll know by then how long the sensitivity lasts. Make sure to check reviews of the person doing it. It makes a difference. Also, look to see if any place around you uses hard wax. The pain and experience is like night and day.

I have done a Brazilian wax but it didn't seem worth the pain and trouble of having to grow out everything so darn long. Which was kinda gross and itchy for a while before.

PS. Pretty painful but not as bad as I imagined!

I've had my legs and underarms lasered. No hair no shaving or waxing. It's totally worth the pain and $$$
