Ways to diet healthy to fit in my wedding dress?

Between full time work, full time motherhood, part time college equals = stress cooking and stress eating. Any suggestions that are on a budget???

Cutting sugar really helps me, and smaller portions of grains and starches. I find more veggies and lean meats help me lose weight but also concentrate better.

It’s all about eating less calories than you burn. For some people it’s easier to cut entire food groups and for others it’s just to be more aware of what they are eating.

Try to get a full nights sleep.

Stop eating after 6-7 pm. Push breakfast as late into the day as possible.

Drink water, people really don't drink enough.

Clean eating. Nothing with lots of things listed on the label Like jared Spaghetti sauce, it has so many things listed and tons of sugar. Make your own or read labels (Common Good is a brand that actually tastes great with no added sugars).

Exercise is great, even if just a half hour walk every day. (Also great for the stress)

I never say I can't eat something. I can eat anything I want, but maybe I'll have it tomorrow or the next day. I really believe when you say you can't have it ever, you want it more. (I know there is a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie in my future, but I can wait and have been for weeks, it has become a game and that's ok)

    You can do this

Try tracking everything you put in your mouth with an app like MyFItnessPal. It'll really show you where you're consuming your calories. Once you've figured it out, it will be easier to figure out where to cut extra calories. Try to stick to 1400 calories per day. I know it's much easier for me to stay on track when I meal prep. I can spend a couple hours on Sunday and be set for the week, so I have no excuse to get something unhealthy since my already healthy food just needs to be heated and I don't want to waste the money. I also agree with PP who said to not restrict yourself. It's a lot easier to binge when you deprive yourself from your cravings. Instead, cut down on the frequency and amount of those "treats". And if you slip up, don't stress about it. One meal doesn't ruin progress, but giving up just because you slip does!

Keto!!! And it’s healthy, not dieting. Basically no carbs. No bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, chips, processed sugar or foods, soda, alcohol. I did several 2-week sprints where I didn’t even eat fruit because of the sugar (that was hard!). Dropped 15 which was my goal.

I second the tracking food suggestion! It will take a lot of time at first but it will help you think a little more about your food and really understand what you’re eating. I don’t really track anymore, but it helped me really see what I was eating and what I wanted to change.
Cutting thinga out completely can be hard, but simple swaps can make it easier and less likely you’ll end up binging it later. Always include veggies and eat those first. Starting with your veggies/protein let’s you fill up on those first before moving to other carbs, which might help you cut down on them if you don’t feel like you can/want to cut them out.

I'm eating cleaner with some Keto influences: cutting processed sugars, processed meats, empty carbs in pasta or rice, and drinking lots of water.

In my first 2 weeks I lost 11lbs!

I've been dying to get back into crossfit because that was the best way I got into shape and I was literally so close to my goal body...then with work and everything i really fell off the wagon! now that I want to get back in, im seeing how expensive the crossfit places are. so im doing some intermittent fasting (16/8 nothing crazy) and I am noticing a tiny bit of difference....but i need something else!!

Like Kelly said below, nothing matters more than consuming fewer calories than you burn. All diets are based on this principle alone. To figure this out, use a TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) calculator to find out how many calories you burn in a day then eat only 70-75% of that number.

Nonetheless, you should still eat healthy foods because they will fill you up and teach you good habits. Technically you could blow your daily calories on a Wendy's meal, but you would be hungry later in the day, and also reinforcing unhealthy behaviors. Cutting out simple sugars and eating more protein are just a few of the things you can do to kick your fat burning into overdrive: https://www.openfit.com/eat-way-great-abs-7-tips

My trying to convert to Dr. Sebi's alkaline eating plan. Although I keep messing up, I have lost 21 lbs so far. Research it to see if it's a good fit for you. Best wishes.

    Hi Veronica!

Snacking every 2-3 hours may help you with eating smaller meals throughout the day. Snacking in means of your daily servings of veggies and fruits. Fruits have more sugar so just beware. Also eating a healthy smoothie may help as well for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I wouldn't get rid of carbs entirely since carbs provide energy for the body. Limiting carb intake, as well as eating carbs earlier throughout the day rather than at night might help as well. You could easily make wheat pasta salads, with a cup of pasta and spinach, kale, etc. with veggies, and low carb dressing or just oil and vinegar. If you're into juicing, that has a lot of health benefits as well: kale, apple, lemon, maybe a banana would be a great start for breakfast. Pinterest has a lot of meal prep ideas, and if you search beach body on Pinterest they show a lot of portion sizing to help figure out where you want to be. :] Calorie intake is different for everyone. Some people need 1300, other 2000 or more. Just see what works with your body, as well as find easy to do tasks to help eliminate stress; yoga, 20-minute exercise, stretching, etc.

Eating out less helps with budgeting, and meal prepping is easier to do as well. Then you don't have to be hungry when your meals are set or overeat! However, if you're hungry, EAT! Your body needs food. I also know that if you feel like you're hungry drink a glass of water, sometimes we think we are hungry but we are dehydrated. Lots of water as well can help loose/maintain weight.

    All the best :]

Walk part, if not all, of your journey to work. Get off public transport a stop before your destination and walk the rest of the way.

    Get More Sleep

Sleep is so crucial when it comes to losing weight! Studies have shown that people who sleep late, or don’t get enough sleep tend to gain weight more easily, compared to the people who do get enough sleep.
