We are having a large wedding at a lovely hotel downtown in our home city. Most of our guests are from the general area but there could be 20-30 coming from out of town, and some coming from a longer drive that might want to stay overnight. They are offering a hotel block with a rate of $200 per night. We are downtown in a moderate city metropolis with no shortage of hotels. Should I offer a room block for a hotel that has lower rate? Should I offer some other hotel suggestions on the website even if a block isn't necessary? Or just leave it up to people to decide where they want to stay if our venue is too much for them?
