We cancled our wedding for may 9th im trying not to be depressed cuz ik its for the best for our families because the old ppl n the kids, but it still sucks,we're going to get married in a court house the soonest friday they open up. We're contemplating having the party at either fhs gpas lake house or a park with a lake

I'm so sorry. We had the same date, and made the same decision you and your FH did.
I agree, it's rough to put so much into planning something then have an unexpected pandemic change things. There's nothing wrong with taking a little time to be upset about it - have a good cry, a day of junk food, venting to a close friend, etc. Whatever works for you to help you mourn it and be able to move on.
I'm sure you'll have great memories of your wedding, and a party later by a lake sounds so nice and memorable. What helps me is trying to think of the positives we still have. There's the traditional getting to marry my FH, but also things like now we get to take our pictures in a great park that I'm looking forward to

Tbh ive thought about saving my dress and dragging my fh to one of the theme parks and putting him in a monkey suit so we can get some truely unique pictures
